Rumor: Is Nokia prepping a Palm takeover?

Could it be? Word on the street is that Nokia is mulling over the idea of buying Palm. Wowsers. I guess it makes sense. When it comes to smartphones, BlackBerry and iPhone are tearing up the track. Android devices, by way of HTC or Motorola, is...

Due to 3G issue, AT&T pulls Nokia Mural off of store shelves

A 3G phone that doesn't work on 3G bands?  What kind of foolishness is that?  The Nokia Mural becomes the second Nokia device in two months to be recalled on AT&T - bad publicity for both the manufacturer and carrier, and frustrating...

Nokia Mural coming to AT&T September 6th

Mentioned briefly in my Weekly News In Review segment (now Tidbit Tuesday) back in May as it passed through the FCC's proverbial hand, the Nokia Mural 6750 has been formally announced by the company.  Featuring external "cover colors" that...

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Unboxing

Nokia's brand new 5530 XpressMusic is kind of like the 5800's baby brother, except it kinda looks cooler than the 5800. No 3G or GPS here, but you do get a 16:9 touchscreen and lots of media features. And WiFi!

Samsung i8910 HD - Unboxing

Nokia E72 passes through FCC, one step closer to US shores

Following in the design footsteps of the E71, Nokia's latest gem, the E72-2, has just passed through the doors of the FCC. Sporting a gold coloring, the E72 offers full HSPA on the 850 and 1900 MHz bands and quad-band EDGE and HSPA 2100 for those...

AT&T announces the Nokia Surge, coming July 19th

Despite the announcement today from AT&T, we had known about the Nokia Surge 6790 for quite a while (though at the time, it was codenamed "Mako"). Marketed at younger users with a "social circle," the Surge offers a sliding QWERTY keyboard, Symbian...

No Nokia Android phones

The Guardian recently published the erroneous report that mobile manufacturer Nokia had an Android device in the works, but a company spokesperson set the record straight today, responding,  "[there is] absolutely no truth to this whatsoever."...

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Black

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Black

Overview What's good: great looks; 3.2 MP auto-focus cam; MMS; Wi-Fi; Bluetooth, FM radio; accelerometer; proximity sensor; resistive touch screen is pretty sensitive; under $300; cool new home screen; a great little media player. What's bad: no...
Nokia N97

Nokia N97

Nokia's flagship seems to have sunk. What's good: Cool slider form-factor, widgets, 3.5G, 5MP cam with dual LED flash, 3.5" 640 x 360 pixel display, N-gage gaming. What's bad: maddeningly glitchy software was not improved by a recent update;...
Nokia Surge 6790

Nokia Surge 6790

At first glance with it’s slide-out keyboard and black plastic casing, you might think the Nokia Surge is intended to be a high-end messaging phone and perhaps that was the case. However, this Nokia is a smartphone and includes all the features...
Nokia E75 Silver Black

Nokia E75 Silver Black

What’s good: 3.5 mm audio/video jack, Internet radio, 3.2 MP camera, video at 30 fps, secondary camera, text-to-speech, long battery life. What's bad: priced way out of range, dual-purpose soft-keys responsible for many mistakes, awkward keyboard....

Re: Re: Nokia N900 and E72 hit the shelves

Only deal-breaker for me on the n900 is the stupid resistive touchscreen. If they where to put a capacitive (with multitouch, anyone?) i would absolutely love it. But i ain't going back to outdated phones with resistive touchscreen s. I hate them.....

Re: Not to be forgotten, Nokia E72 hits the shelves

I own an e71 and while it is a solid phone (as in very reliable cell reception) the OS is becoming dated.

Re: Nokia N900 and E72 hit the shelves

completely excited about the N900, but many people have called it like the G1, ONLY in the sense that it is a somewhat Prototype of what future Maemo 5 devices may look like...

Re: Nokia N97

Horrible horrible phone. I could POSSIBLY have lived with it if it was only the terrible software that was at fault, with it constant crashing, freezing, poor/slow reactions and prehistoric looks (not that i'm all too fussed about menu looks!) I...
