Related Blog Articles & NewsSprint hasn't released it yet, but an official Sprint update of the HTC Touch firmware has been leaked to the Web. The update brings the glory that is Windows Mobile 6.1 to all you Touch users. You can go get it over at the XDA Developers Forum.
I no longer have a Sprint Touch and so can't personally vouch for this file, but from the comments on the XDA Developers forum and over at Engadget Mobile, it looks like this is the real... Score one for a device not made by Apple. Adobe announced that they've licensed Flash Lite and Adobe Reader LE for implementation on Windows Mobile, thus bringing interactive Web content to millions of smartphone users even though Steve Jobs said it's not good enough for his company's iPhone.
A Flash Lite plug-in for WM devices is reportedly already under development, and with a little luck Microsoft will give its customers an easy to... Too good to be true? Maybe - it'll cost you $149 to find out. A company called zzzPhone is offering user-configurable Windows CE 6-based handsets for order on a sort of a la carte basis from their website. $149 plus shipping ($5 up to $30 or so for FedEx 3-day) gets you an 18mm-thick, candybar-style GSM handset running Windows CE for Mobile with a 3" touchscreen, 3MP camera, dual SIM card slots, and Web browser and A/V... Just in time for me to re-write my almost finished review, T-Mobile today released a free software upgrade for their Shadow smartphone. The HTC-made Shadow is a Windows Mobile handset featuring a custom user interface that makes the device much more consumer-friendly than your average WM phone. Today's software upgrade adds a handful of features and also drops some free music and ringtones on users:
The new updates include an... SkyFire has announced the availability of a private beta version of their new web browser designed for WM6 compatible smartphones (Symbian OS to follow). SkyFire is the first mobile browser that provides a “real Web” experience and fully supports dynamic Flash, Java, Ajax and more all while doing it at speeds similar to a desktop PC. Users will also be able to bookmark certain areas of webpages for quicker access at a later time along with... According to Net Applications' newest quarterly report, Apple's iPhone platform has captured 0.9% of the browser market, which is a lot more significant than you might think upon first glance. In just five months on the market - and in only the US market, to boot - iPhone has overtaken all of the Windows mobile platform devices put together; WindowsCE's share checked in at 0.6%, or two-thirds of the share iPhone currently commands. ... Yes it’s true; Verizon is finally making the Samsung i760 officially available at the end of this month. The long awaited Windows Mobile 6 with its slide out QWERTY keypad is the most powerful smart-phone Verizon will offer to date.

HP has just announced two new devices that they will be released by the end of the year; the IPAQ 600 and 900 series. The 600 series will have a numeric keypad while the 900 series will have a QWERTY keyboard. The 600 series has a unique touch scroll wheel built in the keypad, not sure how good it works but only time will tell.
Both phones will have the following specifications but are not 100% confirmed as of yet.
Specs:... Previously at 3GSM a LG Windows Mobile device was shown but not many details were given. It looked similar to the LG Prada but was running Windows Mobile 6 Professional.
The LG KS20 will be unveiled at the upcoming IFA 2007 convention and reports state that it will be released in Q4 of this year. So far there is no news about it being Qaud-band GSM and since it will be released in Europe first it may only be Tri-band.
Specifications:... Samsung has done it again!! If you think the Samsung Blackjack is awesome, think again. The Samsung i620 combines Windows mobile with what Samsung does best; slider phones!!
The i620 is coming out soon and it will be available in white and black. Do you know if this feature is already installed on my pc...cause I can't find it?Thanks,Jeff Related CommentsI love my HTC Touch 6900. My provider told me that sending MMS is not an option. Can anyone shed light on this?? And if MMS can be sent, anyone know how?? My phone will not let me attach picts to text messages. @Fareed: You say, "Considering that Palm has made all their new devices with the Windows OS proves that it is in fact better!!"
No, it doesn't; it just proves that Palm thought it made more sense FOR THEM to use Windows at that point in time.
There are probably a lot of potential reasons they might have chosen to do that, for example as a cost saving measure. hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii What's up with Sprint and the update for the Instinct on 6\30\08. Do you have any info?
Thanks. I thought it was for the Mogul as well. It should give REV A capability along with GPS and Windows Mobile 6.1. in any of your digging have you come across news bout the ACE i325 6.1 updated? I have already installed the WM 6 upgrade on my smartphone DASH. The graphics are excellent but unfortunately there is a major issue with the phone turning off by itself during a call! It just turns off during calls and while I am listening to music. The battery life is pathetic due to that! I have reached the limit of my frustration! I have a palm T3 and a Treo 700w (windows mobile). When I open notes or large programs on the T3 it is instantaneous. There is a long wait when opening the same things on the Treo. Why is the Treo so slow? More windows mobile comments »
