Android Jelly Bean is here, so it's review time!  Aaron does a walkthrough of Google's newest mobile OS update, Android 4.1.  It's an evolutionary update through and through, but offers some nifty new features like Google Now, enhanced notifications, and a huge improvement in the speed department.  It's a nice update from Ice Cream Sandwich with some great new search features, and thanks to Project Butter, it's incredibly fast and fluid.  This could be exactly what Android needs to catch up to the fluidity claim often made in regards to iOS.

Sharang Karve
Sharang Karve Dang it! First give ICS to everyone, then roll out jelly bean. Manufacturers.....
Marlon Milligan
Marlon Milligan Why do people complain about updates? If you want an update you buy a Nexus which is a Google experience & Google owns Android, you root or you buy a new phone with the OS. Not one time when getting an Android phone from another manufacturer other than Google do they state your phone will be updated by them through your course of use. And if they did judging by the people complaining they apparently lie.

QM McClean
QM McClean The Nexus line is there for those who want to experience Android the way Google intended it. Every manufacturer has the ability to lock you in to their own Ecosystem with user experience or accessories or anything else for that matter but it seems as volume of units sold is more important than quality. Here's hoping that fragmentation will slow down but if you're worried, get a Nexus device. They all have with the exception of the S pushed the envelope for hardware, keeping competition alive. How many other devices will be in the consumers hands next month running quadcore cpu's. I'm excited about JB

John Zanatta Running it right now on my GSM Galaxy Nexus. Very fast and smooth. The new notifications are great. The keyboard leaves me with little to no errors, and I thought it was good before. I can't wait for custom builds.

Gabriel Sotomayor
Gabriel Sotomayor I'm running JB on my Vzn Galaxy Nexus and I love it, the smoothness, new animations, the font, notification bar its just amazing love it!
Kevin Jackson
Kevin Jackson Zach, not really I understand your concept of this fragmentation problem but Google's concern is not with other OEMS, that may be the problem yes but strictly speaking the phone that a consumer buys was never promised updates there's nothing saying this phone will stay up to date with google's newest android versions. So to expect that is a bit uhhh demented? I am not saying everyone should want a Nexus but those who want the newest versions should either buy one or start compiling source. I don't own a nexus device and I am content because I never expected an update I made one or researched how to do it. If I didnt have that capability I would of gotten a Nexus.
Ryan Peterson
Ryan Peterson Looks great, I hope it comes to the Xperia Ray!
Bill Siembida
Bill Siembida I have the Verizon gnex And have jb . Its rooted of course but that's why I got it . The support for this phone is off the hook . I have never had to wait a whole day to get the newest updates and os ...
Alex Hunt
Alex Hunt Can't wait for Jelly Bean to arrive on my Galaxy Nexus! It looks awesome! So smooth! Widget resizing will be damn handy, and im really keen to test Google Now! Best decision to sell my GS2 to get the Galaxy Nexus! Will be looking at getting the Nexus 7 too! Well done Google/Android...well done.
Ken Gorab
Ken Gorab It's absolutely incredible. I can't wait to get my GNex
Ferdinando Satria Perkasa
Ferdinando Satria Perkasa I like the feature but not the name. J.B.
Zach Cline
Zach Cline Kevin android has a huge fragmentation problem but it's not necessarily googles fault. Manufacturers are mostly to blame since they churn out a new android device every month running gingerbread with the promise of being upgraded to ICS. That's. Like saying android doesn't lag when google engineers even said lag is a problem. Hence project butter. Not everyone wants a freaking nexus ,Which wasn't that great to begin with and didn't get a timely update to android 4.0.4 by the way. Yeah people could root and flash jellybean and ICS roms but not everyone wants to or should have to.
Danu Carrión Perales
Danu Carrión Perales So far it looks really promising and a lot more polished than ics!
Brandon McClellan
Brandon McClellan Mark Zuckerberg

Randy B Hoopes
Randy B Hoopes Can't wait to get this for my Razr Maxx! Rooted of course since it will take Motorola months if ever to get this out to us I'm sure
Jamal Burns
Jamal Burns I think andorid 2.3.5-2.3.7 better than android 4.0 and thorough this tutorial of jellybean I think gingerbread is still better
Joe Regep
Joe Regep Galaxy S3 will be way better than the iPhone. Even apple is scared of the release. They tried stopping it.
Joernie Berrios
Joernie Berrios cant wait for the DEVS at AOKP get the hands on JB
Chris Simeon
Chris Simeon iOS six is much better the iPhone is better than any android device. Lol just kidding android fan boys.
Joe Regep
Joe Regep Nexus is a shitty phone
Kevin Jackson
Kevin Jackson exactly, if your complaining about not having an os that didnt come on your phone then that is backwards when you purchased said phone from your CARRIER it read android 1.5 or whatever not android 1.5* (which may be updated in the future) gain common sense. EveryOEMs android phone is not GOOGLE's android phone. Its simplier if you think of the Nexus series as the iphone. Its hardware was developed and oversaw by google and so was its software.
Randy B Hoopes
Randy B Hoopes I think android blows, they release all this new stuff that older devices never get
Dominican Papi
Dominican Papi Glad I got a nexus
Mike Mota
Mike Mota Don't blame Google for your phones lack of updates, blame your carrier and manufacturer. If you honestly cared about updates you would have a Nexus, so be quite. This slow update to other phones is nothing new, get over it.
Kevin Jackson
Kevin Jackson blake, android doesnt have a fragmentation problem it has an idiot user problem, if you always want the latest and greatest get the nexus, hence why its not a problem because they assume you will be smart enough to buy their device. Also if you really want it get to work man the source is here! http://source.android.com/source/downloading.html
Burdock Sparklepony
Burdock Sparklepony Maybe we could get the Galaxy S3 in stores first, and then worry about a new OS that nobody really has their hands on yet.

Dawn Thieme The ICS updates are ongoing, friend of mine just got theirs Tuesday.
Caleb Minor
Caleb Minor Maybe I would like it and have an android if they kept all android phones up to date like IOS!
Blake Alexander Urbaniak
Blake Alexander Urbaniak I like it, but Android still needs to get its fragmentation garbage together. Most Android users still multiple version behind, and the version that was supposed to cure that woe is only in use by 5% of Android users. Sorry, but I don't want to buy a phone knowing that I'll be at the mercy of the carriers/manufacturers if I want to run the latest version of the OS. If I was to buy an Android phone, it'd be a Nexus device, but Samsung's phone's look and feel like garbage and still lag despite having 23424 cores and the latest OS update.
Michael McGrath
Michael McGrath Bring it to the epic 4G touch!
