Aaron reviews the ASUS PadFone 2, a smartphone with a unique tablet accessory. Available unlocked and unsubsidized through Negri Electronics for around $800, the ASUS PadFone 2 is one of multiple phone/tablet hybrids from the manufacturer.
- 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU
- 4.7-inch 720p HD display (720x1280 pixels)
- 2 GB of RAM
- 13-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording
- 2,140 mAh battery
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with ASUS' UI
- Tablet dock: 10.1-inch IPS display (1280x800 pixels, 5,000 mAh battery)
It would be great to see the PadFone 2 on one of the mainstream carriers in the United States, as it could cut down on having to carry around a separate phone and tablet (and being forced to sync data between them). Is it worth spending the money for (unlocked and unsubsidized), or are there better alternatives on the market? Part 2 of 2.
