Aaron gets a first look at the HP Pre 3, the company's new flagship smartphone. Though the design is quite similar to the Pre 2, the Pre 3 has a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.6-inch high-resolution display, 5-megapixel camera, a front-facing camera for video calling, and of course, HP webOS 2.0. It'll be available in the summer, though pricing and carrier partnerships weren't disclosed.

"Aaron gets hands-on (eyes on, really) with the HP Pre 3. Despite the tired form factor, would you consider it in a land of iPhones and Android devices?"

Facebook user
Facebook user HP has done a great job on improving it in the areas it needed improvements, while leaving what works well alone. Well done!
George Li
George Li Yup it's eyes on. But no eyes on the phone. I think his eyes are on the lady. Flirting
Andris Fedotovs
Andris Fedotovs I want. Hope it comes to my provider.
Glenn Rubio Urrea
Glenn Rubio Urrea I often read people complain about lack of apps. But all the main apps needed are present. Name specific apps that are not on WebOS that you just can't seem to be without and why?? Really. More isn't always better.
Nehemiah George
Nehemiah George Only if they have more apps than last time. I loved my Pre (Sprint) but due to the lack of apps, I let them go. I now have an Evo, (love it) but no one beats Palm (HP) when it comes to multitasking.
Nick Koval
Nick Koval Sucks.....
Igor Barišic
Igor Barišic no
Ryan Clark
Ryan Clark Good luck continuing playing catch-up to Android and IOS. You might as well join forces with Nokia. Great OS, but the initial marketing of the Pre set it back and may never be able to catch up. Too little too late...
Kevin Gray
Kevin Gray Palm still gives me nightmares from the Treo days. I will stay clear.
Ryan Christensen
Ryan Christensen Palm 3 has front camera
Ryan Christensen
Ryan Christensen If that hinge is better then yes
Tony Abiama
Tony Abiama The phone is iffy, but the tablet will do well
Jason Ramos
Jason Ramos It's gonna be too little too late unfortunately. This is what the Pre 2 should've been. Summer?? Are you fucking kidding me??? This will drown in a slew of LTE and WiMAX based Android devices with dual core processors, 4"+ qHD screens and with the iPhone 5 coming out by then too?? Forget about it.
Kamal Halder
Kamal Halder Nice U I Man....
Jeffrey Wainscott
Jeffrey Wainscott Yuck, I got my fill of webOS with the first Pre. Android ftw!
Kenneth L. Jackson
Kenneth L. Jackson Hell no! Nothing wrong with webos, I'm just an Android fan. Can't wait for either the Droid Bionic or Droid X2.
Dalton Aeschlimann
Dalton Aeschlimann HP Pre just doesnt sound right. Why cant they just keep it Palm Pre... stupid HP... i miss just having Palm....
Chad Laucomer
Chad Laucomer I'm really excited for the Pre3 and the touchpad!
Craig Allen
Craig Allen I really liked WebOS. My original pre had quality issues & needed a faster processor.
Eric Sjoberg
Eric Sjoberg From what I have seen of webOS, i can see why so many people like it, but the portrait QWERTY is not doing it for me. Never has, never will
Anonymous lol. No. Give me my Droid Bionic. and Xoom
Andrew Martinez
Andrew Martinez I'm excited! WebOs is where its at!!
Markell Simms
Markell Simms Whoa!!! didn't see the front cam they really made that sucker blend HOORAY HP!!! Pre 3 here I come lol that phone is fudgin awesome no joke
Kyle Wagner
Kyle Wagner Yes gsm you say?
Edwin Marquez
Edwin Marquez Yes.
John Cruz
John Cruz Nope im gonna get the droid bionic
Ryan Kuharich
Ryan Kuharich My biggest issue is the lack of apps for webOS. I'm not an app junkie, but the app store on my wife's pre is so limited - especially when it comes to free apps. I like webOS but think I'll stick with Android solely for this reason.
Kyle Wagner
Kyle Wagner GSM please?
Rafael Guzman
Rafael Guzman Better announcement than the one Sprint made.
Stephen Wagner
Stephen Wagner i want this so bad.
Adrian Fernandez
Adrian Fernandez Jackwagon Mathew? I'm talking about the slate form factor. Phonedog didn't complain that the form factor of the iPhone hasn't changed. Anyway, the Pre³ is great. Can't wait for the future of webOS.
Brandon Murray
Brandon Murray Markell your wish is HP WebOS' commands - Pre 3 now with a front facing camera!
Andrew Connell
Andrew Connell Markell it has a front camera
Mathew Kennedy
Mathew Kennedy Oh and the pre3 does have a front cam. They said it on the keynote
Mathew Kennedy
Mathew Kennedy It's a great form factor and to the jackwagon that said the I phone has used the same form factor he is wrong. It had a silver back then plastic then metal and glass. The iPhone 4 looks nothing like the 3GS unless you are talking about the candybar design then I guess every touchscreen smartphone has the same form factor
Brandon Murray
Brandon Murray Yes, the form factoreally doesn't need any more changes now. It has a bigger screen and keyboard on Pre 3. Build quality is better now. Hardware is in par with other high-end smartphones. Best of all is WebOS and it's community!
Chris Staton
Chris Staton can you benchmark it? :)
Ezra Walker
Ezra Walker and the same tired os....webOS is more phone, customizable...and just better all around experience....especially when the webOS tablet actually comes out
Markell Simms
Markell Simms I'm Gladd Pre 3 is bigger but it needs a Front Cam Hp dropped the ball once again -_-
Kenny Robyn
Kenny Robyn dump ios, stupid android. Super hero web os <3
Terrance A Bratton
Terrance A Bratton Tired form factor lol. Yet when it was the Dell Venue Pro it was the most sought after form factor..hmm
Adrian Fernandez
Adrian Fernandez I don't understand how it can be a tired form factor. The iPhone has used the same form factor for 4 generations. Is that a tired form factor?
Matthew Harman
Matthew Harman Agreed....its definitely true...
Ezra Walker
Ezra Walker yes.
