Aaron takes a look at the HTC Sensation 4G, T-Mobile's newest Android superphone and the device that everyone's talking about.  Featuring a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, front-facing shooter for video calling, Android 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.0, and a beautiful body, it's the best of the best.

On paper, at least.  While the body is gorgeous, overall performance is slower than the T-Mobile (LG) G2x and the Samsung Galaxy S II, which begs the question - is this the Android device to get, or has it been overhyped?  We'll figure it out.  Part 1 of 2.

Cole Tague
Cole Tague gotta love all the puns he's been doing lately "this phone is sensational" lol
Cole Tague
Cole Tague seriously i would love aaron's job, i would have trouble at first doing stuff in front of the camera lol (stagefright)
Cole Tague
Cole Tague i tried applying at t-mo, verizon sprint and at&t, they all asked if i had sales xp and i said no they said bye, i know more about their phones then they do. ask me anything about any android phone out or coming out and i know they specs about it, without having to look at a piece of paper. they're dumb
Thomas J Wall
Thomas J Wall The Sensation. I LOVE the new Sense UI.
Cole Tague
Cole Tague i like the g2x looks, it kills in every benchmark except linpack, that's the one the sensation beats i in. i heard cuz the res is higher that is why it does lower in every other benchmark
John Kurokawa
John Kurokawa G2X all the way!
??? sensation
Steve Williams
Steve Williams is this a legitimate question? the g2x is being recalled and there not producing anymore because of internal component problems...
Fernie Felix
Fernie Felix G2x...laggy dual core is ironic and unacceptable!!
Coresa Trimble
Coresa Trimble @ ceasar they are only charging a restock fee if you switch from your original model say from a g2x to a galaxy, if you stayed with the same model a g2x a g2x then there would have been no restock fee per policy.
Zach Cline
Zach Cline But back in topic lol. Between these two the sensation definitely. HTC does a killer job with not only there software but they do take pride in the build quality as well. So if i were staying with android it would be htc all the way for me.
Zach Cline
Zach Cline LG sucks.
Nathan Sheaffer
Nathan Sheaffer Oh and, LG has alot of catching up to do before I jump on board.
Nathan Sheaffer
Nathan Sheaffer Sense 3.0, nuff said. Looking forward to seeing more info on mytouch 4G slide before I buy though. Samsung, has always had trouble with getting updates out. No SGII for me. HTC however, unlocking bootloader for customers, that's just classy.
Foad Khaje Es Haghi
Foad Khaje Es Haghi sensation is better bro;)
Tyler Houston
Tyler Houston The sensation is actually very fast. I don't know why people think it's slow? Fanboys. And it has a very good screen. Sensation is my personal choice. It depends on what people what though..
Omar Galarza
Omar Galarza Sensation easyyy
Henry Sanchez
Henry Sanchez Posted from a G2X. Bias yes but on 2.3.4. Sense is a ram hog on any device

Ella Toma My g2x has no problems. Super fast, screen its beautiful and natural looking, battery is ok (not great)....and I have small hands so I'm happy with the smaller screen

Anthony Washington
Anthony Washington Sensation all the way sense 3.0 HTC hub an better lock screen
Vlad Valentine McBride
Vlad Valentine McBride G2x would be great on ATT not crappy t-mobile
Tony Lofu
Tony Lofu Its hard to say without actually having the chance to play with the Sensation. The g2x has way too many bugs and I'm waiting for the sensation to come out so I can get rid of this g2x. There is just too many freezes, random reboots, lag while streaming videos, battery drain on the g2x. It felt so rushed and the promised "gingerbread" update seems to not exist, yeah its "coming soon" as lg likes to say
Jamil Cooper
Jamil Cooper Htc

Brandon Moore HTC is amazing
Gary Kwan
Gary Kwan G2X is the worst one I've ever seen. Rebooting, battery draining + numerous of problems.
Sumeet Deshmukh
Sumeet Deshmukh Sensation 4g will be my choise because of htc sence ui 3.0!! I heard that it's gr8 and aftr watching it's video i feel it But i think gs2 by samsung will rock markt this time but cons of this phone rn't specified yet Thr r only numbers but i want sumthing beyond that (sorry for poor eng, wish u may understand)

Jonathan Moreno G2X all the way!!!
Steve Doric
Steve Doric GS2 all the way The sensation screen is crap even though it has a higher res
Curt Popejoy
Curt Popejoy that big display could sure make up for a slightly slower phone. tough call but I am buying one of them this month.
Cesar Augusto Bohorquez
Cesar Augusto Bohorquez Sensation!!! G2X was way to buggy. Gps did not work for the life of it. Phone had to be reset constantly to stop the lag. Screen bleeding was not that bad but it did happen. Phone had froyo. And to make things worse tmobile charged me a 50 dollar re stocking fee for returning a defective phone which was total BS...
Rastislav Prosuch
Rastislav Prosuch This is actualy a really good question. If there is someone whos not a fanboy, is a owner of either device and cares to share an objective oppinion (i guess i lost most of above posters on the fanboy part), id seriously appreciate. Im interested in HTC and Samsung right now, considering whitch one to buy. When looking at sheets, Galaxy S2 is the logical choice. But i want more than numbers. Is there anyone willing to objectivly write about pros and cons of these two phones?
Vladimir Avril
Vladimir Avril Cyanogen has a g2x. Nuff said.
Darryl Mouzone
Darryl Mouzone G2X. I think it is because the mic on the Sensation is pure crap. Video is great but the sound is horrible. Everything else about the Sensation is good except for that. I still say G2X is better though.
Falak Patel
Falak Patel G2x HANDS DOWN! Sensations is SLOWWWWWWW....thanks to damn htc sense

Gabe Perez
Gabe Perez Aaron is a hottie.
Tom Chavira
Tom Chavira You have to weight out their features. Sensation's video/audio quality is depressing. If anything; I'll go for the Galaxy S 2. Considering iPhone 4GS.
Jamal Khan
Jamal Khan I just got my sensation today and I gotta admit. Even with dual core 1.2ghz. The sense 3.0 is still laggy. So if ur a person who doesn't care abt. .3 inch screen diff then g2x is the way to go
Boyd C Adkins IV
Boyd C Adkins IV what about sensation versus inpsire?
Rich Bridges
Rich Bridges Selling my Nexus S for the Sensation

Alex Ochoa
Alex Ochoa G2x all the way..
Josemon Chemmachel
Josemon Chemmachel G2x!!
Josh Lazenby
Josh Lazenby Oooh, tough one there. They are pretty similar, but I would say the Sensation would be the better device. I am thinking there is some issue with the scores it keeps getting on quadrant.
Randy Hayward
Randy Hayward but you can root the g2x and install gingerbread. I'd say the only advantage of the sensation is it's got Sense (for those who like Sense), and it can run Netflix.
Michael Sletten
Michael Sletten The only thing that makes the sensation better is gingerbread ...in all other areas g2x is better
Aziz Vela Chavez
Aziz Vela Chavez G2X .... HANDS DOWN
