Aaron puts the HTC Windows Phone 8X in the ring versus the Sony Xperia TL.  The HTC 8X features a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 4.3-inch HD (720p) display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p recording, 1,800 mAh non-removable battery, and Windows Phone 8, all in an incredibly thin form factor.  The Xperia TL, dubbed the "James Bond phone," features a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 4.55-inch HD display, 13-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, 1,850 mAh battery, and Android 4.0 with Sony's Timescape UI.

They're both coming to AT&T for $99 this holiday season.  Which one is worth the cash?  Part 1 of 2.

kev94550 The problem with WP8 is it lacks good apps. Otherwise it'd be awesome. A iOS/WP8 mix would be perfect
Avinash Durairajan I Want to see dog fight of Galaxy Nexus Vs Nexus 4
Naj Khan do not waste your money on window phone buy apple or samsung
Naj Khan do dont buy window phone warning it boring the design is bad really bad i dont like it. buy samsung s3 or other coming samsung
Ernest Marvin Esteban No apps+ poor marketing, unfamiliarity, price will make it unsuccesful this coming holidays ... Android will rule the whole season....
Ernest Marvin Esteban Very impossible ...
Ezekiel Carsella course it can!!!
Douglas Prevo Maybe in a foot race. I like wp... but it is not its year.
Steve Johns Android is beating apple right now so no wp can not contend/beat android sorry.
Zach Cline Phonedog has gotten to be a joke ever since Noah left . It's obviously an android fan site and they put these posts up for no other reason than to start fanboy wars.
Niño Ver de Leon Personally, WP can't go head to head with iOS & Android at the moment in terms of versatility... especially Droid. Though design & interface would be a tough contender
Anthony Domanico Will it is the better question. Of course it can; there will be many Windows Phone devices sitting on shelves along Android devices, and the consumer could easily choose Windows Phone over Android. But will it? Not a shot in hell.
Rushil Vig no waaaay android is finally ready this year!
Kerri Kershaw I know the WP8s are supposed to have "46 of the top 50" popular apps across all platforms. I've seen Words With Friends, and a few popular ones. They better get it right! :D Skype integration is really nice too.
Demahj Hook Hell noooooo!!!!!
Mark Hellard Go windows phone 8, as a android user and a s3 owner i can't wait till the HTC 8x is in the stores.
Reese Woodson Windows Phone just need more apps (popular ones). If they don't get better apps then they can't hang with iOS and Android. This is coming from a Lumia 900 owner.
Kerri Kershaw I'd like it if reviewers would keep off the OS if they aren't familiar with it. I've seen a couple of instances where they faulted WP because if ignorance or maybe even personal preference.
Jose Angel Santiago Not with the galaxy note 2 out!!!
Kerri Kershaw I can't understand what anyone sees in Android, it is messy, unintuitive, and takes at least twice as long to do anything. It's ridiculous! WP's icons actually TELL you stuff and you can do almost anything in two taps.
Brad Allison Sorry to say it but I doubt it. I like WP personally but so many people tell me they just don't like "the tiles". And the app store needs time to populate.
Kaizer Joelle Nah. Android has a ton of phones from different manufacturers and windows only has a few. It's never going to happen
Jacob Grumbles No it can't .
Kerri Kershaw YES it sure can!
Dzwinner Djazair A closed model will NEVER beat an open one (in modern day computing)
