Aaron takes a first look at the LG Genesis, US Cellular's newest Android phone and a device that looks a lot like the LG enV series of messaging phones. Don't let the looks fool you - it's quite the little QWERTY-powered Android, with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch external display, 3.2-inch internal display, full QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel camera with flash, and Android 2.2 with some minor LG customizations. It's a welcome addition to US Cellular, and with a full QWERTY keyboard, could be the catalyst that pushes BlackBerry customers to the Android side.

LG Genesis specifications:

  • 1 GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 3.5-inch external display (480 x 800 pixels); 3.2-inch internal display (480 x 800 pixels)
  • 5.0-megapixel camera with flash
  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Android 2.2 with LG customizations

Tim Fuhrmann I tried to switch back to Android from BlackBerry, and it only lasted about 6 hours. Touch screen and apps just isn't enough to get me away from BB. Android is cool for the kiddies who want to show off to their friends and compete for the "best" phone.
Pierce G Hohenstein Not that hes eyecandy, that any phone is a good upgrade for a bb user
