Two unlocked Android devices.  Two part video.  Two manufacturers.  Dogfight time!  Aaron brings the LG Optimus 4X HD and GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus together for a head to head comparison.  The Optimus 4X HD was announced at Mobile World Congress earlier in the year and packs a 1.5 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 CPU, 4.7-inch IPS HD (720p) display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD recording, a 2,150 mAh battery, and Android 4.0 with LG's custom UI.  Samsung's Galaxy Nexus is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP CPU and offers a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display with PenTile, 5-megapixel camera with 1080p recording, a 1,750 mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

They're both spec'd well, though the Optimus 4X HD brings quad-core computing to the table.  That said, the Galaxy Nexus is only $349, while the Optimus comes in at just under $600.  Which one is the best all-around deal?  Part 1 of 2.

Huey Liggins
Huey Liggins Eh... Jelly bean would be nice but gingerbread is fine on my note. I didn't bother updating to ics. I even rooted my phone and it's slightly faster. So I'm not even thinking about an update. There's no need for quad cores yet and they might drain batt life so I really don't desire either unless quad core comes with a nice battery

Anthony Bailey
Anthony Bailey You can tell the folks who have no idea that quad-cores make no different on current Android phones versus the people who do. You people screaming for "quad-core" are no different than the Apple iSheep. You all haven't a clue of what you are talking about or wishing for. You are just buying into hype.
Robert Centennial
Robert Centennial quad core doesn't matter is just as laggy as a dual core on android.

Anthony Bailey
Anthony Bailey Jelly Bean. Quad-Core is just something being hyped up by manufacturers, geared towards ignorant people who don't have a clue of what it means. There are barely any apps or anything performance-related, that can benefit from quad-core technology at this time. So, I'd rather have Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Note. Seems like a nice upgrade... even moreso than ICS.
