This is the dogfight you've been waiting for, and possibly the most anticipated one in PhoneDog history!  Aaron throws AT&T's Motorola Atrix 4G and HTC Inspire 4G into the ring.  The Motorola Atrix 4G offers a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 4-inch qHD display, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera, and Android 2.2 with MOTOBLUR.  The Inspire 4G sports a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch display, 8-megapixel camera, and Android 2.2 with HTC Sense.

The Motorola Atrix 4G may offer more features, but it suffers from a surprising amount of lag.  The Inspire 4G, on the other hand, has horrible battery life.  Who will win the dogfight and become the best Android smartphone on AT&T?  Part 1 of 2.

Thanks for your participation! :)

Joshua Sharkbayte Shears Ive used both for extended periods of time and they are both excellent phones geared towards different audiences. My Atrix, which I chose to stick with, is scoring consistent 2600-2700 Qs and 55fps Neo. Why would I want to void my mfg warranty, cause unnecessary heat and wear on my cpu, while draining more juice from my already poor battery just to come close to Atrix specs? I'll put up with a little motoblur. kthx.
Is-boset Santoyo the HTC of course
CJ Ughamba when i grow up i want to work for HTC. it'll probably be the best job on the planet.
Nathan Elcoate I would go the dual core any day. If you don't like Motoblur you don't have to use it. That's the beauty of Android. Just put Launcher Pro, ADW or Gingerbread launcher on it instead!
Luis Ortiz I have droid 2 and I would choose the Inspire...Once Motorola stops locking bootloaders I might give them a second chance
Jordan Acosta Thanx cyr, samsung galaxy s2 are more betters atrix 4g and htc inspire 4g..
Benjamin Padilla Both are good. It comes down to size and skin. The Inspire does better on both of those.
Marti Ruiz Waiting galaxy s 2 i dont care about late upgrade ..feature is important . Android is more cuztomisable than other mobile opereating sistem
Chris Taylor Oh Inspire without a second thought . HTC Sense, cheaper, made by HTC, larger camera, enough said.
Jud Trautvetter HTC! That is all
Jesse Clark Motorola has been horrible between slow updates and ruining devices with Motoblur. I'll take the Inspire.
Sylbert Joseph If you want to root, go with the atrix. If rooting isn't your thing then stick with the inspire. I just demoed it at the Att store, and that phone is smooth as hell. If I had to choose, I'd go with the inspire.
Allen Drewe If the atrix gets rid of its locked bootloader id be thrilled
Jon Jerico Calanio Atrix feels definitely smoother and more powerful. The Tegra 2 delivers on its promise, as it literally blazes through apps like they were nothing. Tried a demo unit earlier and its Webtop interface is really good, plus definitely usable as a daily computer. And yes, the Atrix is already rooted - at least partially. If you want to get rid of bloatware, rooting it is the best option. I'm hoping for a crack in th bootloader to allow devs to create ROMs for it.
Seaedge Val Atrix ftw! Htc overrated... IMHO... Hahahahah
Allen Drewe Atrix isn't laggy. So many opinions based on not giving the phone a full review. Besides the atrix is obviously being held back by 2.2
Derrick D J Thomason Neither one has 4G....
Tony Abiama HTC EVO 4G
Andy Solis Banuelos AATTRRIIXX i really want et i might get it tomarrow !!!
Zach Cline Agreed. HTC ftw
Anita Lee i love my HTC Inspire 4G
Efrain Rosado The Inspire 4g feels better in build quality than the atrix
Michelle Boskin I LOVE LOVE LOVE my HTC Inspire 4G!!!
Ele Garcia Atrix because of dual processors, although I prefer htc sense over motoblur..but I have a feeling that they all are gonna be thumped by iphone5 in the summer which is sad considering their fanbase.
Nic Gruwell iPhone 4
Lisa Womack Inspire is better I love mine
Tim Miyashiro I'll take the Inspire 4G. Don't wanna take a chance with Motorola, and the Inspire is cheaper and doesn't have a locked bootloader. I don't need all the power anyway.
Matt Percan HTC for sure!!! I hate Motorola products!!
Ashley Vaughan I'd put my money on the HTC inspire. Build quality and ui trump the duel core atrix. Also all reviews are coming in stating the atrix is laggy. Kinda weird since it has amazing specs. Amazing specs don't matter at all if you don't get results. Htc is butter.
Marcus Woldridge Attic is cheaply made and motoblur sucks
Yasir Sohail About to get home from work, gonna check this out
Allen Drewe Atrix all day. Best phone on the market for the power user.
James Oliver Yeah i gotta lean to the atrix, more definite once i can test the stores demo unit. Huge battery,qHD display, dual core processor. You wont have to upgrade for a long time
Terrance Thompson Atrix all day long
Edwin Burgos Inspire. It's all about HTC sense. MOTO blur is a joke.
James Oliver The atrix has already been rooted. http://briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-root I was trying to decide myself which to get between the two. atrix with awesome power for 199 or inspire for 99. 100 bucks is a big difference...Tough choice....
Ahmed Jamal Ibraihimi Motoblur has huge repulsion power and moto hasn't understood this yet; above all v don't know if ever moto is going to upgrade the OS of atrix, bcoz they r too lazy in rolling out updates as they hav to do lots of work to incorporate motoblur in updates, so for me it wud be inspire or I will Wait for galaxy S2 or iPhone 5.....
Cyr Parlapiano Jordan is right!
Nathan Parks Tyler, that's not at all how it works. Its a dual core and functions as such. Victor, moto is known for having better screens over HTC and the atrix has basically the same size screen
Mychael Rendón I bought the HTC inspire.. I don't need a dual core phone
Cesar Nevarez hell naw low life's talking about phones hahahahaha
Tyler Backherms Atrix only uses one processor unless its on special moto software designed to use two processers. So in essence. It's a single core phone.
Jordan Acosta Samsung galaxy s2
Stephen M. Knipe II Atrix, hands down
Jeff Alamillo HTC ftw.
Clay Deichman ATRIX 4G ALL THE WAY!!! I got one and its amazing, how fast it is
Brian Edwards Hard choice. For me it would come down to having dual core vs easier modification of software. At this point I would get the Inspire, but if the bootloader is cracked on the Atrix, i would get that hands down.
Victor Rios Inspire is better (4.3" display and made by HTC) enough said
David J Jung Psy Htc inspire 4g ftw
Cyr Parlapiano Atrix is probably the best idea so far in the game motorola is the best and that's shown iPad v xoom. 4 Real!
Kathy Travis-Leslie Motorola Atrix 4G--I have never had a Motorola phone to tear up. They are very good phones.
Jamel Taylor No unlimited data plans?
Jake Denning Neither
Heang T-r I bought the Atrix over the Inspire
Nick Liddle Uhm inspire i just bought one an hour ago and its better than atrix by 1.000
