If you like Windows Phone 8 but you're tired of HTC and Nokia dominating the spotlight, take a look at Samsung's first US-based Windows Phone 8 device.  The Samsung ATIV Odyssey packs a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD recording, 2,100 mAh battery, and 4G LTE.

Verizon's selling the ATIV Odyssey for $49.99 with a contract, making it an affordable, well-spec'd smartphone.  Is it worth choosing over the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 822?  Part 1 of 2.
