GetConnected Provides In-Store Activation for Vonage Customers at Retail LocationsBOSTON, Nov 09, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- GetConnected today announced a relationship with Vonage America Inc., a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG) and a leading provider of broadband telephone services, to offer in-store activation of Vonage broadband telephony service through kiosks in leading retail stores throughout the nation. Powered by GetConnected technology, the combined offering lets consumers purchase Vonage hardware on premise and register at in-store kiosks to immediately subscribe to its flat-rate, full featured service.
GetConnected simplifies the process of buying digital services online and at retail locations by making it easier for less technology savvy consumers to walk into the store and get phone service in a box. Through GetConnected's relationship with Vonage, retailers can now offer consumers the option to activate their Vonage service immediately in-store, thus shortening the activation process. Because the Vonage service also requires a high-speed Internet connection, retailers can improve customer satisfaction by selling the customer broadband service. "GetConnected's kiosks offer Vonage the tools it needs to make our customer's experience easier from the minute they purchase our devices," said Mike Snyder, CEO of Vonage. "The GetConnected platform will provide instant service activation for Vonage subscribers purchasing our hardware. This new campaign takes one-stop shopping to the next level and helps us make the Vonage retail experience among the easiest in the industry." The kiosks provided by GetConnected help consumers find the Vonage service plan that best fits their needs. Once the customer completes their order, it is sent electronically to the Vonage system and the customer immediately receives an order confirmation. The customer's service is active immediately and subscribers can use many of Vonage's features such as call forwarding, SimulRing, online voicemail and online account management before they connect their new device to their broadband connection. "GetConnected is committed to helping partners like Vonage increase revenues and improve their competitive advantage," said Ali I. Riaz, CEO of GetConnected, Inc. "Our partnership with Vonage is good for retailers, consumers and Vonage. The success of our company is driven by the ways our partners use our solutions to enhance business operations."
