VIENNA, VA - February 13, 2006 - SunRocket, one of the nation's fastest-growing Internet phone service providers, announced today that Mark Fedor has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, Fedor will lead the development of SunRocket's technology strategy as the company enhances and expands its innovative and easy-to-use Internet phone service designed for mainstream consumers.

"As one of the pioneers of Internet technology, Mark has already left an indelible mark on how businesses and consumers communicate and exchange information," said SunRocket Chairman and co-founder Paul Erickson. "His knowledge of networking and software development, insight into technologies that move the market, and vision for revolutionizing Internet-based communications will strengthen SunRocket's technological advantages in delivering breakthrough capabilities at an incredible consumer value."

Working on the first phase of NSFNET (a network linking academic computer science departments that became one of the building blocks to today's Internet), Fedor developed the first multi-routing protocol process, a technology still embedded in present-day routers. He later co-authored SNMP (standard network management protocol), a key Internet protocol that enables network administrators to manage network performance. An original member of NYSERNet, which became the first statewide Internet protocol network when it was completed in 1987, Fedor played key technology roles in growing PSINet (which was spun out of NYSERNet in 1990) into the independent facilities-based Internet Service Provider in the United States by the late 1990s, when he was Senior Vice President of Global Engineering.

Fedor joined PSINet co-founder Marty Schoffstall in 2001, where he led the D.C.-region operations of Schoffstall Ventures, an early-stage technology investment fund. Most recently, Fedor served as Principal Engineer at MITRE Corp., following a stint as chief operating officer of Roadstar Internet, Inc., a wireless broadband network service provider in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Fedor joins Greg DuPertuis, Vice President of Advanced Technologies and Engineering, to solidify SunRocket's highly-regarded technology development team. DuPertuis, formerly the CEO and co-founder of Adrenaline, a D.C.-based software firm that created technology for early-stage companies, has led SunRocket's software development group since inception in early 2004. Together, Fedor and DuPertuis are tasked with extending SunRocket's technology leadership in residential Internet phone service.

"SunRocket's success in challenging the staid industry model has redefined what consumers should come to expect from their home phone service provider," said Fedor. "Their vision extends beyond VoIP to next generation, fully integrated, Internet-based communications services, and I look forward to driving further technology breakthroughs that will help separate SunRocket from the pack and spur more widespread adoption of Internet phone service."
