Alltel announced the launch of the Motorola E815 for use on their CDMA network. New Alltel customers who sign up for a two-year agreement or qualified existing customers can purchase the E815 for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate. The E815 is advanced and comes equipped with hands-free Bluetooth functions, voice activated dialing, BREW technology and a 1.3 megapixel camera. With EV-DO technology included, customers can watch live TV or listen to commercial free radio stations. Web speeds have been demonstrated at 2.4 Mbps using this device on the Alltel network.
"This is a classic clamshell handset that delivers the latest technology at true wireless broadband speeds on Alltel's EVDO network," said Wade McGill, senior vice president of wireless product management for Alltel. "The Motorola E815 is a great addition to our expanding lineup of EVDO-capable handsets."
