From the original HTC EVO 4G announcement at CTIA in March, I've argued that Sprint needs a powerful ad campaign for the HTC EVO 4G. Don't tell me how many people are using e-mail on vacation, or how many customers are using 4G in a taxi. Instead, highlight the abilities of the phone. Discuss the video chat capabilities. Talk about 4G being fast, and highlight the Snapdragon processor. From a consumer perspective, the EVO's capabilities are what will sell the device, not statistics or Dan Hesse's pearly whites.
Sprint's first EVO 4G commercial doesn't do that, but does do a decent job of talking about "firsts." And honestly, considering the Pre commercials, it's a huge step forward. Check out the video below, and let me know what you think!
