Well what do we have here? It seems that a new BlackBerry device featuring the model number REA71UW recently passed under the microscope of the FCC, complete with AT&T-compatible 3G bands in tow and what looks like BlackBerry 7. As with most FCC filings, though, the majority of the details on this latest 'Berry remain shrouded in mystery.
So what might this mystery handset be? It's kind of tough to say with so few details, but there are a couple of BlackBerry 7 handsets coming soon that RIM has yet to make officially official: the Curve Touch 9380 and Bold 9790. This REA71UW device has the same last four characters in its model number as the Curve 9360 (RDD71UW), so it's possible that we could be looking at the Curve Touch in this FCC filing. We recently saw RIM tell its developers to prepare their apps for the arrival of both the 9380 and 9790, so we may see both of them arrive soon and hopefully help solve this puzzle.
