Just a day after we learned about the Sprint Galaxy Note 4’s Android 4.4.4 update, it appears that another CDMA carrier is sinking its teeth into Google’s latest mobile software.
Some members of the xda-developers forums are reporting that they’re receiving an update to Android 4.4.4 on their Verizon-branded Samsung Galaxy S5 units. Post-update, they’ve found themselves on build KTU84P.G900VVRU1ANHA. Unfortunately, neither Samsung nor Verizon have posted any information regarding this update, so it’s not clear what changes that it might include.
Android 4.4.4 is primarily a bug-fixing update, so that’s likely the primary focus of this update. The download link shows that the update weighs 346MB, so there’s likely some other tweaks included as well, but we won’t know for sure until Samsung or Verizon post some support documents.
While we wait for the official docs to surface, you Verizon Galaxy S5 owners can check for this update manually by heading into Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for Updates.
