The Sony Xperia Z3 will be available from Verizon Wireless as the “Sony Xperia Z3v.” The Z3v will launch on October 23 and will be available for $199.99 with a two-year commitment. Verizon will also have a promotion that’ll knock $200 off of the combined price of an Xperia Z3v and Xperia Z2 Tablet when they’re bought together. Verizon also plans to sell Sony’s Android Wear-powered SmartWatch 3 this October.
As its name suggests, the Xperia Z3v is basically a version of the regular Xperia Z3 that plays nicely with Verizon. That means that it’s got a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display, 20.7-megapixel rear camera, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2.2-megapixel front camera, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 4G LTE, a 3200mAh battery and built-in wireless charging support. The Xperia Z3v will also offer a waterproof body, PS4 Remote Play and Android 4.4 KitKat.
It’s been quite a while since Sony and Verizon came together to offer a smartphone in the US, so it’s nice to see that that’s finally changing. The Xperia Z3v looks like a high-quality smartphone that can hang with the best of ‘em, and Verizon customers will soon have another nice choice when it comes to upgrading to a new phone.
