Now that all of the flagship smartphones for 2014 have launched, it’s time to turn our attention to 2015 and the new goodies that it’ll bring. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is sure to be one of the biggest phones of next year, but we may be getting an early look at it today.
An image of what’s said to be a prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S6 has been posted by Dutch site Toptienmobiel. The phone’s body is reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 4, sporting straight sides and rounded corners, and it’s also got super-thin side bezels. We can also see Samsung’s famous physical home button and capacitive multitasking and back buttons. The front-facing camera on this supposed Galaxy S6 has been moved from its place in past models, where it was on the side of the earpiece, to above the earpiece.
Because this is a leak of a highly-anticipated smartphone, it’d be wise to take this leak with a grain or two of salt. And since it’s called a prototype, there’s an even greater chance that the final Galaxy S6 could look different than this device. That said, the phone in this image does have features that we’d expect to see from a new Samsung flagship, including a Note 4-like design and physical home button.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 was announced at the tail end of February this year, and so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Galaxy S6 debut around that time in 2015. What do you think of this alleged Galaxy S6 leak? Will you be happy if Samsung’s next flagship ends up looking like this?
UPDATE: Sources speaking to SamMobile say that this isn't a Galaxy S6 prototype. Move along, everyone.
