Just days after releasing Outlook, Microsoft is adding another Android app to its section of the Google Play store.
Picturesque Lock Screen is the latest app from the Microsoft Garage, an effort to promote app projects created by its employees in their free time. Picturesque is a lock screen app that’ll bring Bing home page images to your Android device’s lock screen. You can change the image to any of the ones that were used in the past six days by shaking your phone or swiping it to the right.
In addition to showing off Bing home page photos, Picturesque will let you search the web and view linked pages without unlocking your phone, display news and weather, show your missed calls and messages, and access your phone, camera, and various device settings. Indian users can also view regional calendars and Muhurat on the lock screen.
Microsoft’s Garage effort originally debuted in October 2014, and the effort has brought several apps to Android, iOS, Windows, and Windows Phone. It’s awesome to see Microsoft promoting its employees’ projects, and this Picturesque app looks like it offers a lot of functionality to your lock screen. If you’ve got an Android device and want to try it out for yourself, hit up the Google Play link below.
