The new Huawei Watch is the device maker’s first effort at an Android Wear device, and I’d say that it’s off to a good start. The round face of the Huawei Watch is made of stainless steel and it’s got a 1.4-inch 400x400 AMOLED display beneath sapphire glass. Huawei’s also included a button at the 2 o’clock position on the Watch’s body.
Inside of the Huawei Watch’s stainless steel frame lives a Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, and a variety of sensors that include a heart rate monitor, motion sensor, and barometer, all of which can help you keep an eye on your fitness. The Huawei Watch runs Android Wear and will launch in more than 20 countries around the globe, including the U.S., U.K. Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. Huawei says that it’ll share pricing and exact launch dates in the future.
Huawei today also introduced the TalkBand B2, the follow-up to last year’s TalkBand B1. Like its predecessor, the TalkBand B2 has a removable Bluetooth earpiece that also houses the device’s 0.73-inch PMOLED touch display. Huawei says that the TalkBand B2 is smart enough to know when it’s docked and when it’s not, and so when it is on your wrist, you’ll get phone calls sent to your smartphone.
The TalkBand B2’s body is made of brushed metal, and you can strap it onto your wrist using leather or rubber straps. The latter will obviously be better for exercise, which you can use the TalkBand B2 to track thanks to its 6-axis sensor. However, it’s worth noting that the TalkBand B2 doesn’t have a heart rate sensor. The device is water and dust resistant, though, and it’s got a 90mAh battery that’s rated to last up to five days of use.
The third and final wearable revealed by Huawei today is the TalkBand N1. Unlike the TalkBand B2 that you wear on your wrist, the TalkBand B1 goes around your neck and in your ears because its a set of Bluetooth headphones that’s got 4GB of storage for holding around 1000 of your songs. The N1 can also track steps, tell you calories burned, and is sweat-resistant. Its 67mAh battery is slated to last for three days of use.
