Cricket today announced Phone Payment Plans, which offers consumers a way to pay for devices in installments rather than all at once. Phone Payment Plans are available on any phone priced at or over $199.99, and each account can have a maximum of five financed devices at once. Here are the three different ways that Phone Payments Plans let Cricket customers pay for a new phone:
Prepaid operators are often highlighted as a way to save some money on your cellphone bill, but they also don’t offer contracts or subsidized phone prices, meaning that it can be difficult for some consumers to buy a new device. Cricket’s Phone Payment Plans aims to change that by putting even new phones like the Galaxy S6 within reach thanks to an installment plan. So long as you know that you can pay off a device within one of the timeframes offered by Cricket, these new plans look like a solid option for anyone interest in prepaid.
Cricket also notes that it’s offering a free month of service to anyone that switches from T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint, Boost, and other operators. To get the free month, you’ll need to sign up for Cricket’s $50 or $60 rate plans and complete two months of paid service.
