Past Galaxy Note phones have been introduced at IFA in early September, but it looks like the Galaxy Note 5 is going to buck that trend with an earlier debut. That doesn’t mean that IFA is going to be devoid of new phones, though.
A new Huawei device has been leaked by Evan Blass, aka @evleaks. Not much is known about the phone, but we can see a rear camera with a dual LED flash, as well as what appears to be a fingerprint reader. Blass originally suggested that the phone might have Force Touch tech as well, but he later clarified that that feature “has been pulled from this model.” The phone is expected to debut on September 2.

The identity of this device is still a mystery, but it could be a follow-up to the Ascend Mate7, a Huawei phablet that debuted at IFA 2014. Many phone makers follow an annual upgrade cycle, and this unannounced Huawei phone looks fairly similar to last year’s Mate7, so it could be the Mate8 (Huawei has been getting away from the “Ascend” brand lately, so that may not be included in this device’s name). IFA 2015 kicks off in less than a month, so it won't be long before all is revealed. Stay tuned.
