Last week, HTC named 12 phones that it plans to update to Android 6.0. Now we can add 1 more to that list.
HTC’s Mo Versi has confirmed that the HTC One M9 Google Play edition will be updated to Android 6.0. Verse says that HTC is planning to push the One M8 GPe’s Marshmallow update this month, but that he’ll make an announcement once we get closer to the start of the rollout.
@athreya7777 M8 GPE will include Marshmallow OS update. Our target is this month. Will advise once we are close to release.

The Google Play edition program was meant to offer flagship devices like the One M8, Galaxy S4, and others with pure Android software rather than the customized software that their manufacturers use. Those devices were also expected to get Nexus-like software updates. We haven’t really heard many details about Android 6.0 updates for devices like the LG G Pad 8.3 GPe or Moto G GPe, but if you picked up the Google Play edition of HTC’s One M8, you can rest easy knowing that your helping of Marshmallow is coming.
