Amazon surprised us all last year when it unveiled the Echo, a large cylindrical Bluetooth speaker that includes its Alexa digital assistant. In the year since its debut, the Echo has gained new features like streaming from Pandora, Google Calendar access, live sports scores, and control over connected home devices like Philips Hue. And now the Echo is on sale.
The Amazon Echo is being discounted to $149.99 for today, November 11. Tomorrow it’ll go back to its regular price of $179.99. And because it’s an Amazon device, Echo is eligible for Amazon Prime, meaning that you can have one on your doorstep tomorrow if you’d like.
It’s also worth noting that if you have an Amazon Store Card or Amazon Prime Store Card, you can save even more cash. Slick Deals notes that card holders can enter the promo code ECHODEAL at checkout to save an additional $50 off the Amazon Echo. With the card’s 5 percent Statement Credit, the final Echo price will be $94.99.
Amazon’s Echo seemed a bit strange at first, but folks that’ve used the device have come away impressed. In PhoneDog’s review, which you can view above, Beau said that the Echo’s sound quality is good and that he found the device to be “darn impressive.” We haven’t really seen the Echo go on sale much since its launch, so if you’ve been on the fence about picking this smart cylinder up, today might be the day to do it.
