Earlier this month, LG sent out invitations to its MWC 2016 event. That event isn’t happening for another 18 days, but LG has gone ahead and revealed what it plans to announce there today.
LG has taken to social media to tease “LG G5 Day,” which is happening on February 21. No details of the device itself have been revealed, but now we know that LG’s next Android flagship is indeed coming later this month.

Rumors have suggested that the LG G5 will come with several features that you’d expect from an Android flagship in 2016, like a 5.3-inch 2560x1440 display and Snapdragon 820 processor. Some of the more interesting features that are rumored to be coming with the G5 include a secondary display like the one found on the V10, a detachable bottom piece that’ll hide the removable battery, and dual rear cameras, one 16-megapixel shooter and a second lens that’ll give the camera wide-angle functionality.
LG has shown that it’s not afraid to experiment with different hardware features. For example, years ago it introduced rear-mounted volume and power buttons that it wound up using on several more phones. We’ll have to wait until February 21 before we know for sure what LG has cooked up for the G5, but the good news is that we’re now less than three weeks away from all being revealed.
