Baselworld is an international watch conference held each year, and today’s the day that it kicked off. Fossil is celebrating by announced several new smartwatches from its various brands.
Fossil Group today revealed several new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches from brands like Diesel (above left), Emporio Armani (above center), Fossil (above right), and Michael Kors (below). These watches include Snapdragon Wear 2100 processors and AMOLED displays, but Fossil isn’t saying too much else about their features right now.
The watches look about as you’d expect from each brand. For example, the Diesel On features an oversized display, the Emporio Armani Connected smartwatch is blacked out and stainless steel, and a new Fossil watch includes a leather band.
As with the specs, Fossil isn’t saying much about its launch plans for these watches, save for the Michael Kors models. The Grayson watch for men and the Sofie watch for women will launch this fall at a starting price of $350. The Diesel watch is expected in holiday 2017, the Emporio Armani model will arrive in September 2017, and the new Fossil watches will launch in fall 2017.
Fossil is no stranger to the smartwatch game, having launched a few models in 2015 and 2016 that were recently updated to Android Wear 2.0. Now the company appears to be going hard into the smartwatch category, offering models from several of its brands in an attempt to get more of its customers to try a smartwatch.
