A new Samsung device with the model number SM-V310 has appeared in the FCC (via Variety). The device is listed as an "AI Speaker", and images show a device with a Galaxy Home-like shape but with a smaller overall size. We can also see AKG branding on top of the device along with what appear to be volume controls, and there's a microUSB port on the back for power.
There aren't a ton of details about this device's features contained in the FCC report, but we do know that it's got Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Late last year, a rumor claimed that Samsung was working on a smaller, more affordable Galaxy Home smart speaker with the model number SM-V310, and that's exactly what this device appears to be. It's kind of strange to see this Galaxy Home Mini popping up in the FCC while the Galaxy Home still hasn't been released, especially because we have no idea when the Galaxy Home will finally launch. Maybe Samsung decided to hold the Galaxy Home until the Galaxy Home Mini was ready to launch alongside it? Who knows.
