NET10 is the BEST

Posted on: February 28th, 2009 by Matthew Thoreson

The good: Looking 2 months at all other prepaid sevice plans NET10 is the cheapest we have 3 phones and are paying only 48 a month cant beat that on a contract plan. Customer service, though hard to understand, was always helpful and fixed any problems we had.The bad: LG Phones aren't reliable, 2 of the 3 phones are LG a LG600G which is a crap phone no bluetooth headset is detectable, ringers suck, voice recording ringtones is impossible to hear, Service on the LG600G cuts off constantly within range (4-5 bars at ALL times) and says emergency calls only DOES NOT work in houses or in stores we have to walk in the middle of the street and up the block for the person to hear us the other LG (LG CG225) is not that bad only downfall with LGs is the low memory onlySummary: I use the Motorola w375 i am vary happy with its FM Radio (thought using it makes the battery drain like crazy) only downfall is the shit battery life only use it about 5-10 minutes a day and have the charge it every other day (when people claim they go WEEKS with it and not having to charge it BULL even NOT using the phone everyday and it just in standby (closed but powered on) still leads to charging it every other day) and having to charge it everyday if i listen to the radio for 15 minutes. Point is with Net10 STAY AWAY from the LG600G its not a good phone you will be lucky when it actually DOES work dont think cuz u have bars u got service NOT TRUE with the LG600G! The LG and Samsung phones are no good Motorola is reliable mines got wet (water spilled on it and in it and was STILL on and WORKING with it being drenched) and it has slipped out of my hands at least a dozen times and hit the icy concrete, fallen in snow, slamed on hard floors and still works flawlessly if I had an LG itd be trashed and nonworking or unusable by now

Works just fine!

Posted on: January 27th, 2009 by John Somtething

The good: Its a cell phone...and works as good or better than any other cell phone. The bad: Don't get into a situation where you need to call customer service.Summary: We have 5 Net10 phones, and the service is fine. It works out to be $15 per month, and we never run out of minutes for what we use it for. Customer service is done by morons in Miami or Costa Rica over VoIP, so it can be a little challenging. Other than that, it beats the pants off paying ATT, Verizon or US Cellular for the same crappy service (for a lot more money).

Phones not bad, customer service not so good all the time.

Posted on: January 21st, 2009 by Anonymous

The good: the no contract and pay as you.The bad: customer service reps not speaking good english.Summary: I been with net10 for about 5yrs now and they aren't too bad aside from the customer service reps not speaking english and half the time you have to get tough and request the supervisor to get problems solved. I had my phone stole and I called to have my phone cancelled so the person couldn't use it. The rep said no problem, when you get your new phone just call use and we will transfer your minutes and number to the new phone. Not true they somehow managed to delete my old number and then they almost could figure out how to transfer my minutes. Then they made me buy 300 minutes more to activate the new phone and I had to wait a week for a new sim card to be send to me. After getting everything done and the phone was working I found out that when I called anyone the name that came up on their caller ID was someone elses name. It took almost three weeks and numerous calls to correct this issue.

LG600g Bluetooth is GREAT !!

Posted on: January 16th, 2009 by R Scott

The good: Bluetooth will transfer pictures to and from my computer, always just 10c per minute (including roaming), great coverage in my areaThe bad: No mp3 ringtones (if that bothers you) but other than that, none worth mentioning.Summary: I'm new to Net 10 so I went in "blind" as what to expect. I've been using Virgin Mobile for the past few years and was just getting tired of paying their high (per minute) rates. After using this LG600g few the past few months, I'll have to say that this phone along with this service (AT&T) is FANTASTIC.... Sometime the phone signals are a little spotty here in the mountains of east Tennessee but I have NEVER dropped a single call in my area (Tri-cities).Also, I like that I am able to use my Bluetooth enabled LG600g to transfer picture to and from my computer without having to email them, saving me tons of money. If you are in the market for a really great (basic) phone for not a lot of cash, you may want to check out this particular model. It has worked out well for me and my needs...GOOD LUCK !!!

Great Value at VERY reasonable cost

Posted on: January 13th, 2009 by LG1500 User

The good: Cheap basic mobile service, NO lengthy, COSTLY contract with Excellent coverage. The bad: New sim card needed sometimes when transferring minutesSummary: Simple activation, easy to use phones. Can do it all online. No need for customer service. Do the activation at your leisure. It's very simple. You can activate a new phone or upgrade to a new phone at 3am if needed/wanted. Try that with AT&T, Alltel, Verizon, or any other high cost monthly service companies. Sure these wireless companies will GIVE you a discounted or free high-tech phone, but then they have you obligated to them for 2 or 3 years (24-36 months) at $50-100 per month. Want to cancel that contract? Sure can. Just shell out the cost of the phone for hundreds of dollars. My phone costs me less than $10 a month with more minutes than I need. Did I mention NO CONTRACT??? I can discontinue using it anytime I want with no penalty. Just use up the already paid for minutes and put up or give the phone to someone else that needs a reliable mobile phone. The Net10 phone service is the only way to go for personal use. Check out their website for purchasing new and refurbished phones. They are usually cheaper that purchasing from local stores. Sometimes bonus minute cards with purchases are available with certain model phones so your cost is way less than 10 cents per minute. A little wait, but delivery is usually fast.

A realistic review of net10

Posted on: December 3rd, 2008 by Very Satisfied Customer

The good: cheap rates, phones getting betterThe bad: none so farSummary: I've been using net10 for almost 3 years now. I started with the generic motorola V171, went to the V176, then to the W375. I now have the LG 600G. All activated with no problems. I've never had a problem with customer service the 2 times I've had to call. The minor problems I had were handled quickly. Every service has problems, that's why they have customer support. You do need to keep in mind that this is a cheap basic phone service. The phones have had very little in the features department until the new LG 600. I've never ported a number or even kept one the 4 times I've upgraded. It isn't that hard to mention to a person you have a new number. Rates have always been $.10 a minute for a call and $0.05 for text messages. People who think otherwise are incompetent. A 5 minute call shows up as a 5.00 minute deduction. Multimedia messages are $.25 or a 2.50 minute deduction. Text messages are $.05 or a .50 minute deduction. Me, my wife, my son, my sister and my parents all use net10 without hassle. The truth of the matter is it's a phone guys. If you want the internet, go home and use a computer. Who cares what it sounds like when it rings ? If you want real value without selling your soul to a contract provider look no further.

Would have been better off with a contract via Verizon or otherwise

Posted on: October 30th, 2008 by Tracie Kasper

The good: Perhaps that I won't have to pay an outrageous cancellation fee unlike contract companies. The bad: Customer Service and Upgrades.Summary: POOR Customer Service, POOR quality phones-and a not so lovely lengthy waiting period if you dare attempt to upgrade. (Hopefully you have a back up phone!) I could hardly understand most representatives- English, I had to make myself VERY repetitive, they tried rushing me off the phone because they 'couldn't help resolve this issue', they stated they "Don't do any kinds of refunds, or returns", they stated they "Can't delete my account/and phone number", and last but not least-they told me they "CAN'T delete my credit card information". Hmmm...a little too fishy for my taste. Make sure you PRINT out any and all receipts of purchases, be it airtime cards, phones. minutes bundles from your phone itself-EVERYTHING! Unfortunately enough, I need a working phone NOW. Not in 48 hours, Not in 7-10 business days. Since they cannot help me, and won't remotely attempt at customer satisfaction in allowing refunds or returns-I'm disputing all charges with my bank to get my money back. I've already dumped a total of $180 into Net10. Worth it? Not by any means. For far less than that I would rather be bound into a 2 year contract. At least they are RELIABLE and have they act together! =[ Ultimately, yes-they were clever enough to rape me for my money.

Phone and service are great.

Posted on: October 26th, 2008 by Chris Ford

The good: Lowest cost time, great coverage. The bad: Poor phone selection.Summary: I drive truck, border to border, mountain range to mountain range, never been without sevice. Even deliveries to boondock locations had service. If you can't understand the service person, just ask for another person, or a supervisor. The SIM card must be set up in the area you live in. Don't buy one out of your service area, or buy one and send it to someone out of your service area without setting it up first in your area. Most of the problems I read in your comments started with the customer not understanding the rules. I started with Tracfone ( the parent company ) and switched over to Net10 for the lower cost. If you want a phone to be more than a phone go sign a two year contract with someone for 3 times the money. If you want a phone that works like a phone, get Net 10.

Posted on: October 14th, 2008 by Aaron Ariens

The good: Cheap phone's, great value. The bad: I would like to have more coverage. I guess you could blam At&t for that.Summary: I love my little net10 phone. I have the unlimited minutes and text plan, best thing ever. It also has free 411 included. Great deal, I would go for it.
