Great phone

Posted on: February 25th, 2010 by miles degrandi

The good: Good battery life, insanely rugged, good enough cameraThe bad: its a little slow sometimes but you have to get used to itSummary: I absolutely love this phone. i hate all the phones with full keyboards and that crap, will never have one. this phone is most deffinetly waterproof, i left it in the snow overnight once (by accident) and dropped it so many times in lakes/streams/use in shower. The battery life gets really good after you have it for a while, i can get at least 3 days. the camera is pretty nice for a rugged phone... i love the feel of the phone it just feels solid. it is a little on the slow side, especially picture loading but you have to get used to it. all the people that b***h about it turning off try to do way more than it can handle which i found to cause it to shut it off, so calm down peopleGreat phone highly recommended

Poor Reception

Posted on: February 14th, 2010 by Perry Dockins

The good: Holds up to abuse, battery life is goodThe bad: orange on silver keys are hard to read, Reception is spotty. Summary: Updating software has done nothing to improve the poor reception. My sister and her husband have Motorola phones that get strong signals where I get none. By coincidence, my bro-in-law's union issued to him the same phone- identical problems. We all have Verizon service. Camera was downsized from 2.0 megs to 1.3 megs. Perhaps to make room for bluetooth. Shouldn't reception be a priority? Why else do you buy a phone?

Gz one boulder

Posted on: December 29th, 2009 by Courtney Casey

The good: This phone is so durable it's not even funny. I have put this phone through so much crap and it's still holding up. The keys are slightly higher than the phone which makes it easy to dial without having to search for the keys. The camera is decent, not the greatest ever, but still gets the job done. The ringer is loud which is a plus for heavy sleepers that use their phones as an alarm clock. It's water proof which is great for those of you who can't stop talking or texting even when showering. The bad: It's bulky, but it definately makes up for it in durability. So this wouldn't be a good phone for those of you who aren't permitted to have phones on you at certain times (ex. School, work etc.). The sound quality isn't the greatest either, so don't try to record your own ringtones because the quality isn't very good at all, it comes out crackly.Summary: All in all, if you are looking for durability, this is the phone for you. Though it is a bit bulky and the sound quality isn't the greatest, it's still overall a great phone. I would definately and gladly recommend this phone to anyone.

Casio Boulder problems

Posted on: August 7th, 2009 by Leah Propes

The good: Rugged, waterproof, comes with 2 batteriesThe bad: I had to return it 3 times in two days, was given a replacement each time.Summary: I was very excited when I got the first phone last weekend but after I got home two hours later the phone kept turning itself off every minute. I went back to Verizon thinking I just got a bad phone. They gave me a new one but as they were programming it the new one started doing the same thing. The tech went back to the storeroom and got me a third phone from a different shipment. This time they told me I just needed to change my Alltel number(which I have had for 8 yrs) to a Verizon number and that would fix the problem. Got back home and the third phone started doing the same thing. After 3 days and 7 hours and the loss of my old number I finally had to get a different phone. No one could explain to me why this happened and it was too late to get my old number back. I never had a chance to find out about the reception problems others talked about, but did notice the battery life was pretty short even on the extended battery, of course turning itself off and on every minute didn't help any.

Boulder Freeze Up

Posted on: August 2nd, 2009 by P S

The good: NoneThe bad: All SUCKS BADSummary: The boulder is the biggest peice of trash I have ever had. The phone locks up and powers off at least 10-12 times a day. The display shows the stupid clock so it fools you into thinking it is still on. When in reality the phone is powered off. The only way to fix it is remove the ^%@#%battery every time it locks up. Do a google search on boulder problems and you will see alot of people have this problem. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE, BUY ANYTHING BUT THIS CASIO TRASH

Casio Boulder Orange C711ORXB w/ Front Speaker

Posted on: December 19th, 2008 by Nick Muccigrosso

The good: Durable, loud, clear, efficiant. The bad: Camera is only 1.3 mega pixels. could be at leat 2mp i think.Summary: I've had this phone for about 2 weeks now, and I saw reviews and testing on youtube videos. I too put mine in water, froze it, dropped it from about 30 feet, etc... you name it. I had to make sure that it could live up to my expectations. Now ive been reading that other people say that the speaker sounds like a tin can. mine sounds loud and clear, somtimes a little muffeled after ive pulled it out of water or unfroze it,due to a water bead on the speaker, but if you blow on it, it clears right up. msic player sounds great too. i take mine in the shower everyday. even send my girlfriend some umm....naughty pics/vids from in the shower ;) All in all i love this phone, because im a klutz so i need it!!!

Like a Rock

Posted on: September 16th, 2008 by Anonymous

The good: Must be durable. Everyone says so.The bad: Can't hear most calls clearly. Buttons on the side are always accidently getting pushed.Summary: I am not sure this is the same phone I have. Mine is a series 2, sure looks the same though. I couldn't find any reviews for the G'Zone series 2. My company went to Verizon and a lot of these things for the workers a couple of months back. Maybe the Boulder is the new version. Wish mine was the boulder, then this phone would make sense. Since hearing on this thing is like listening to a rock. Rocks are durable and waterproof and if you throw it sure does send a message. But as for talking and clarity I belive the two tin cans and string DO work better. I returned the phone to my employer hoping they would get me a different model, one I can actually hear on, but it seems they are gonna give me another new one of the same model. Seems I have no choice. Maybe You do. If this was my personal phone I would not use it one more minute. If You can't talk and hear clearly on a phone, WHAT GOOD IS IT!!! If I couldn't exchange it, I would just cut my losses and buy a new model. Probably find out then how this phone holds up to a real rock!!!!!

Hello?

Posted on: August 26th, 2008 by Tommy Rommazontz

The good: Great design. Rugged, waterproof, Like the compass and flashlight. The bad: It has no use as a phone. I cant get a decent signal anywhere. I'm in Chicago, that should not be an issue. I cant drive on any of the area expressways without spotty signal strength. Calls dropped gallore. Even when it gets a signal, it has the poorest sound quality I have ever had in a phone. Its not Verizon tower signal, its the phone. I'm sending it back today. I hope I can reactivate my old phone. Summary: Casio must address and correct these issues quickly. Word of mouth will sink future sales of this phone if Casio does not act NOW. Verizon should also take swift action and pull them off the shelf until Casio arrives at a solution.

The good: I like the snap sound it makes when I close the door. The bad: Receive Quailiy not goodSummary: Every call sounds like someone is talking into a sock unless they are on a Bluetooth headset, then it sounds like two socks. Casio missed the most important feature, "receive sound quality"Can I please have my Motorola set back?
