Google Pixel 2 64 GB Clearly White

Posted on: January 11th, 2019 by AnonymousReviewer

I purchased this Google Pixel 2 64 GB directly from Google around 9 months ago. I have had several faulty issues with the phone including random loss of phone service, phone only vibrates randomly, and the consistent need to restart phone in order to gain phone service. The charger cable became loose after about 6 months, and finally after 9 months it became nearly impossible to charge or use any other cord attachments such as the audio adapter or data transfer adapter. I contacted Google about the issue and found out that they would replace my newly purchased device with an aftermarket repaired Google Pixel 2. They told me that the request would be processed immediately and that I would receive the replacement Pixel 2 shortly and then send my original phone to Google. I received an email stating, "Ive processed your request. You should receive an email soon with detailed instructions and shipping labels. If I can help with anything else, please let me know." I decided I did not want a replacement, but wanted my original phone to be repaired and returned. I responded to the email and waited 6 days, no response from Google and no shipping label or replacement phone. When I called they said it must have been a glitch. This phone has been a world of glitches and Google's customer service is very poor. Because Google owns the search engine it seems they have been able to manipulate the reviews in their favor. Do yourself a favor and purchase an Iphone or Samsung instead.

Google Pixel 2

Posted on: November 18th, 2018 by Manda.prime

I will never buy a Google phone again. I've had a Google Pixel 2 for almost a year now; it worked great for about 2-3 months before all hell broke loose. Dropping/missing calls, texts not being received or sent, no internet connection 50% of the time, photo and videos not saving, Bluetooth connectivity problems, and more. My fiance's pixel (Google Pixel 2 XL) has all of the same problems. Turning options off and on doesn't help, restarting it doesn't help, turning it off leaving it alone and turning it back on doesn't help. It happens at home, work, and just while running errands (we live in a small town but work in a college town nearby). Day or night - doesn't seem to matter. The iPhone he had years ago never had these problems, nor did our Galaxy's. Until an update a few months back the battery life was terrible too - even on power saver. The camera quality and option are awesome. That's about my only good review for this phone.

It's eh.

Pros: awesome camera and battery life, cool features like Google lens and vr view. The processing has held up so far after 5 months. Cons: Bluetooth and gps totally suck. Google maps stops giving directions after I lock the screen. Some of my favorite features stopped working about 1 month ago: song identification in front screen, voice activation when screen is locked, double tap to wake up screen. And the design is flawed, I simply moved my phone across the table and the led glitched, now I have a pink line running down the right side. Idk it's an alright phone but I'm going back to lg next time.

Fine Phone Terrible Charging port

Posted on: November 3rd, 2018 by eyaracz

The big problem I've had is charging this phone. The charging port doesn't click in like androids or apple devices. So the charging cord often doesn't connect or falls out or wiggles its way free. I am overall disappointed in this phone as I've had it 6 months and almost have to very carefully put the charger in to make sure it is actually charging. Terrible design

Google Pixel 2

I bought this phone because I heard great things. This phone was a huge mistake. The camera quality is not as great as everyone says and the worst thing is it's all through Google, so when you send pictures to people it goes to their Google account if they have one. I switched from a free phone to this and basically got the same thing for $600 more. Also it has a lot of glitches where it freezes up or exits out of what your on. Brand new phone and when I brought it in they didn't have any clue how to help. So please help yourself and trust my review this is a bad phone choice. Stick with your typical iPhone or Android Samsung. Good luck!

Google Pixel 2

Posted on: September 12th, 2018 by Lorena411

I was so excited to get my new Pixel 2 and start taking great pictures. Everything was great until about 8 months into using the phone it started glitching and freezing during taking pictures or using the video function. Til finally it gave out, the phone will not reset, load or turn off. It stays on that it got so hot I thought it was going to explode. I didn't buy the warranty and now I am having to deal with Google and that has not been easy. No resolution yet, spent over $600 for a phone to last 8 months not cool!

Not well thought out

Posted on: July 26th, 2018 by monee

Google failed to meet current trends.. they elimnated the ear phone jack which all cell phones have. Tried to fix it by putting a jack plug in that plugs into the charging port. This fails at allowing you to charge while listening to head phones.. Not well thought out. Goodle should have given away blue tooth head sets with all purchases. Instead they charge $159.00 to purchase their blue tooth ear buds... sounds like google is getting a bit greedy?

Google Pixel 2 vs. Horseshoe Lake

Posted on: July 22nd, 2018 by Kjane79

8 year olds are clumsy. And sometimes parents don't make the wisest decisions regarding smart phones and water and said 8 year olds. "Hand me my phone" is a totally harmless phrase unless you're in a raft, your kid is on the dock, and there's a 12 inch area of water between you both. Needless to say, my Google pixel 2 went swimming. And by swimming I mean it sunk 15 feet to the bottom of the lake. And this wasn't a clear lake. Visibility is 0 about 2 inches below the surface. So, we did what any smart person would do in that situation. We recruited the neighbor girl to repeatedly dive down through the cold, dark abyss to the bottom and feel around amidst the fallen trees, seaweed, and mud for the phone and not a catfish or a snapper. After over an hour we had all but given up. But she came through and on her last attempt she had it in her hand as she came up. I immediately turned it off, gave her a reward, and then did my best at drying it out. I took off the case ($7 off wish) and used my hand vac and hand at each port to try and suck out any water or lake debris hanging around. Then I made a sort of vacuum chamber out of a glass jar, a balloon and the same hand vac. I put my phone in it and put the attachment through the balloon on the top and ran that off and on for a few hours. Then nestled it in for the night in a bowl of rice. In the morning it worked perfectly. I can't even tell a difference from before it went under. The Google pixel 2 is by far the best phone out there. I recommend it to everyone- even if they don't spend any time in the lake!

Pixel 2 Google Project FI

Posted on: July 9th, 2018 by Kb

I would not recommend this phone to anyone. I received my first phone in Jan 2018. I noticed immediately that the phone battery overheated when transferring my iPhone data to the Pixel 2. Became too hot to touch. When speaking with Google Project Fi, they suggested this was due to amount of data being transferred. This overheating issue continued to occur when using the phone, especially the maps app. Again was told it was due to it working too hard. They suggested I turn off all other apps before using maps. This did not help. I called again and complained. They sent a replacement Pixel 2. It did the same thing. The worst problem I had was when receiving group texts. I would get one or two from the group then nothing and one or two more. The texts would make no sense, seemed out of order or missing and then at 1 or 2 in the morning my phone would start pinging, getting many text that obviously were sent earlier in the day. I reported to Project Fi and generated several debugging reports for them that I had to email to them. I felt like I was on their R and D team without getting paid. The final straw came when my battery on the replacement phone died and would not take a charge and was dead for 7 Hours. Being a type 1 diabetic who lives alone, I require a reliable phone so I contacted google about cancelling my service and returning this phone for refund. I was told it had been too long since I got the phone and they would refund 0 dollars. Hindsight tells me I should have just returned it immediately and gotten a refund instead of trusting them that they could fix the problems.

CRAPPY

Posted on: June 10th, 2018 by lionspiritualjourney456789

So many issues. Google camera app was poorly designed. Deleting a picture using the recycle bin at the bottom of the picture will actually delete that picture everywhere completely even if you have saved it in a folder you no longer own that picture because it will be gone. The placement of the volume button on the lower right hand side of the phone prevents you from putting it in a phone cradle. I have also noticed that when you try to close the Google Maps app it is almost impossibe. The other apps are pretty easy to close. The Google assistant is nowhere near as decent as other voice-activated apps. Best Buy predominantly has radio receivers that are compatible with iPhone and not Android devices which is the Google pixel 2 phone. Once you buy this song when you think that you are not in a contract you are in a contract on a payment plan so the phone is seven hundred and something dollars it is not worth it don't buy don't buy
