Avoid the HTC Bolt Exclusively from Sprint

Posted on: December 26th, 2017 by ImTheManuel

This phone when functioning properly, is quirky and doesn't have many features that I would expect, even when comparing to the older HTC One M8. First, it requires headphones with a specialized jack, or an adapter to use a standard headphone jack. Even when using the special headphones that come with the phone, you are unable to listen and charge at the same time. The device is also not equipped to use FM radio applications, nor does it work with applications such as Peel remote (both were features of the M8). These are things that I can live with. The real problems are in the reliability of this phone. Simply do an internet search on HTC Bolt problems, or HTC Bolt black screen, and you will be presented with many many complaints. I personally, have had 1 of these phones fail within a couple of months of purchase, the replace arrived with screen problems and had to be sent right back, and a third that failed in the same manner (black screen problem) in just over 1 year. That's 3 HTC Bolts that I have failed for me, personally. The first phone mentioned, would also heat up very quickly, and hot enough to be painful to the touch. It is a Sprint exclusive phone from HTC and neither seem to stand behind the product, nor acknowledge any issues with these phones, despite the numerous complaints. If you purchase this phone, you are taking a risk.
