Great phone, poor network until LTE comes out.

Posted on: June 13th, 2012 by Gidon Halbfinger

This phone is absolutely stunning. The screen is incredible - great pixel density and resolution. It's lightning fast, and can handle high-end games very well. I've dropped a few calls in areas with spotty coverage, but I think that has more to do with Sprint than the phone itself, as I was dropping calls with my previous phone as well. Battery life was better than expected. I can easily last a whole day - in CDMA-only mode, this thing gets very good standby time, even with a bunch of things syncing in the background. The screen does suck up some juice when it's on, but it's not terrible for such a bright and hi-res display. The design is very hit-or-miss. The phone is extremely light, and razor-thin, and the kickstand is very sturdy. However, some people may not like the contrast between the top and bottom halves; the top half is glossy [fingerprint-able] plastic, the bottom is matte black-painted aluminum. A quick web search will yield instructions on how to sand the top plastic for a matte look if you're the DIY type - some might feel this is an upgrade worth risking. Overall, a fantastic phone. Fast, gorgeous screen, very responsive. HTC's Sense interface is beautiful as always, and does little to slow down the phone. Also, if one is interested in rooting/hacking the device, there have been a plethora of well known developers buying one, so there should be a great community active in developing ROMs, themes and such. The EVO 4G LTE even has some advantages over the One X - namely its kickstand, bigger battery, and removable memory card slot. However, Sprint's poor network does dull the appeal for those looking on from another carrier. I'd definitely recommend the phone to anyone on Sprint's network - I firmly believe it's their best phone.

could be the best possible phone

Posted on: June 13th, 2012 by Jarius Woolfork

The 4.7 in super LCD 2 true 720p HD display is gorgeous its the best screen i have seen on a smartphone. The design of the Evo is super stylish and even though it is super thin it has a nice weight and premium feel to it. this is my first time having an htc phone and sense 4 is great compared to touchwiz and motorolas UI. The 1.5 dual core s4 chip is very quick and i have not seen any lag in having it for two weeks. The battery gets me through most of the day before it needs to be charged. The only downside is the phone is on sprints network who hasnt launched there 4g LTE yet and they have really bad 3g service but all in all this is the best phone i have ever used

Visually striking, unmistakably beautiful

Posted on: June 12th, 2012 by Anonymous

This phone just has a wow factor. The design and finish is so high end and unique that it just feels spectacular to hold. Something about the design makes it look like the thinnest phone I've ever seen, and I'm a huge fan of thin electronics so that's an area where it's hard to impress me. The screen is second to none, the phone flies, and HTC Sense on top of Android 4.0 is actually incredibly smooth and beautifully animated. It makes the whole phone feel like it's working under a smooth cohesive platform.

The new EVO is a phone that has everything.

Posted on: June 10th, 2012 by Nicholai Cascio

The new EVO is packing a 1.5 GHz dual core processor (Snapdragon S4) that scores around 5000 in Quadrant, a beautiful and huge 720p LCD display (no Pentile, thank god), 4G LTE, Android 4.0, a kickstand, the best smartphone camera on the market, internal and removable storage (16GB internal, up to 64GB removable), super thin yet rugged and beautiful aluminum/polycarbonate unibody design, and the awesome Sense 4. What's not to love? A non-removable battery, that's what. It seems kinda strange that, for a phone that has everything, it's missing one thing. This means no extended batteries, which may put some off. But honestly; I wouldn't say it's an issue. I can easily go two days on this phone. Granted, I use WiFi at work and home. Speaking of WiFi, if you don't have it at all times like myself, you should note that Sprint's 3G sucks, but it's cheap. This phone really has EVERYTHING. HTC didn't skimp on this thing, they even included small details like a kickstand or a hump around the camera to keep it from being damaged. HTC really outdid themselves this time, I would recommend this phone to everyone.

Beautiful Smartphone!

Posted on: June 9th, 2012 by David D Aldridge

Really happy that i skipped over the EVO 3D. This phone is amazing when compared to the OGEVO and most phones on the market today. The design is simply beautiful. However, HTC Sense is not nearly a pleasant as, say CM9 will be when available for this phone. There is also the obvious elephant in the room... Sprints network, or lack thereof. Nuff said. Lastly, I LOVE this phone!
