Just a few months after Jolla launched their smartphone, they also announced their first ever tablet device to be released in May 2015. The Jolla Tablet is similar to the Jolla Smartphone, in the sense that it comes with the company’s own operating system called Sailfish. Unlike iOS and Android OS platforms, Sailfish is an open-source system that users can easily customize with enough development know-how. Yet at the same time, Sailfish is able to run Android apps and native software programs on the Jolla Tablet. As for its specs, the tablet comes with a 7.9-inch screen equipped with 2048x1536 pixel resolution quality that helps make graphics come alive. The tablet operates on a 1.8GHz Intel quad-core processor with available 2GB of RAM. For storage, the Jolla Tablet comes with an internal capacity of 32GB. To expand the memory space, a microSD card may be inserted and used up to 32GB. To capture precious moments, the tablet has been equipped with a couple of cameras—a 2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear camera that can capture HD quality videos. Other features of the Jolla tablet that are worthy of mentioning include its proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, GPS, and Bluetooth.
