Back in the USSR (I mean Android)

Posted on: November 14th, 2013 by Victor Konygin

In my entire life I have had a huge variety of phones (from smartphones to old models). For more than a year I was a fan of Apple and iPhone 4S. But with their iOS7 they have KILLED the phone! And I'm not talking about design. Apps can restart my phone when they want, it shuts down with 18% battery life left and doesnt start up. Lags everywhere, it is not stable as it was before. That's why I plan to change to Android (NOTE3) in a couple months. Great battery life, lots of apps out of the box and more. PS. Thnx to the Phonedog.com, youtube channel and Aron Baker with reviews and info that gave me enough to make up my mind. Best regards!!

Dinged for being large?

Posted on: November 14th, 2013 by Keith Wright

That's like singing a truck for having an exposed bed. I love the phone. Period. I have huge hands and welcome something that I don't have to hold like a matchbook in order to make calls. Don't like the mono speaker, though.

apple fan boy

Posted on: November 13th, 2013 by Jon Andrew

I'll admit it I'm an apple fan boy...call me what you want apple products just work. Went into Verizon today to per order iPhone 5s and then I see the note 3. My first impression was this is huge I'd never use this and I laughed. Then I turned it on..then I played a little with it...next thing you know I'm walking out of the store with a note 3 and no regrets. This phone is AMAZING. Build quality could be better and the camera could be a tad bit sharper but over all everything else is absolutely perfect. This phone is a beast and by the way this is an apple fan boy commenting lol

What a BEAST!

Posted on: November 12th, 2013 by Rittik Susmito

If you're looking for a smartphone with an excellent full HD display, an awesome camera and amazing battery life, then look no further...the Galaxy Note 3 is KING! Not only that, I LOVE the hands-free mode (which allows you to answer calls without touching your phone, and you don't even need a Bluetooth headset if you are comfortable talking with the loudspeaker on) and the S Pen (more precisely, the astounding range of functionality it adds to the phone). If you're looking at performance, specs, and features, there is simply no phone out there today that could possibly beat the Note 3. However, if you're more concerned with other factors such as pocketability, ergonomics, and build quality, the Note 3 may not be what you're looking for. For starters, it is very difficult to fit into a jeans pocket, and it is just too big for comfort when operating the device one-handed. The body also feels very flimsy (i.e., it does not at all feel solid in the hand because of its light weight and thin design). If it falls out of your pocket and lands on one of its corners, you might have to kiss your Note 3 good-bye. It is also not waterproof or dust-proof like the Sony Xperia Z1 (even though you cannot use the Z1 in saltwater or in the sand, which kind of defeats the purpose). So, in the end, the decision to purchase (or not purchase) the Galaxy Note 3 would really depend on your priorities. Personally, if they could fit all of Note 3's hardware into a body the size of an iPhone, I would have no complaints whatsoever.

Great phone overall. If you don't mind the size you can't beat this phone in 2013.

Great screen: bright, vibrant, high contrast, excellent resolution. Great battery: lasts at least a day even on heavy usage. Great processor & memory: snappy, no jitters with smooth of multitasking experience thanks to 3GB memory. Good features: multiwindow, SPen to name a few. Questionable extra features: air gestures, air view. Subjective design & build quality: depends on your taste you may like or dislike the build quality and design.

Undeniably the best phone out there right now

Posted on: November 12th, 2013 by Anonymous

I'm super happy with this phone, the happiest I've ever been with a phone in fact. If compared to any other device on the market it has the best battery life of them in most cases by far (plus the battery is removable). On top of this it charges faster than most of the competitor devices out there. It is a physically gorgeous device. Has as much built in memory 32 GB as virtually all the competitors with the added benefit of expandable storage. It is a super fast and fluid device. The screen is gorgeous (easily on par with virtually all the other screens on the market and better than most). The size might be slightly large for some people but you benefit from the great screen size while being at the upper limit of what's handlable. The device is also nice and light, which is great (lighter than the last 2 note devices). It has one of the best video cameras on the market able to take 4K video and 1080p video @ 60 FPS with fantastic image at least in proper lighting. The daylight camera is certainly excellent, though the low light camera leaves a lot to be desired. The speaker are great being one of the loudest devices on the market. It's one of the only devices running Android 4.3, the Samsung value adds are significant whether or not a person likes Touchwiz it definitely gives a lot more capabilities to the phone and is better designed than most alternatives. For example, a lot of the music players don't allow navigation by folder, Samsung's does. HTC Sense, LG's UI, etc. don't allow you to rotate through the home screens like a carousel while on Samsung you can. Being able to adjust phone settings (wifi, etc.) is more convenient on Samsung than any other device with all the options directly in the notification shade. The multi-tasking on Samsung is second to none especially with the S-Pen. The media streaming eco-system on Samsung is only rivaled by Apple and beats everyone else by far. The S-pen gives it a unique advantage and flexibility not available on other competitor devices. Bottom line there really isn't any competition, the only reason not to go with this device would be if you really needed the low light photo taking capability, if you found the screen too large to be manageable, or you were deeply invested in the Apple eco-system (then of course the iPhone 5S is the best), or if you needed a much cheaper off contract phone (then of course the Nexus 5 is the best). As a general rule though and in the aggregate the Note 3 is far and away the clear winner amongst current smartphones.
