Samsung e730 - The easy MP3 Phone/Radio/Camera

Posted on: August 5th, 2006 by Phillip Lowe

The good: -easy to navigate-reminds me of the v205 interface-1 touch mp3/fm player-small, light weight, stylishThe bad: -weak battery life-scratches kinda easily-non upgradable memorySummary: The Samsung e730 is an awesome phone - it's very easy to navigate and has many unique multimedia features. I was very impressed that they decided to implement an FM radio in the phone - one that I use frequently. Along with the mp3s and music, it also has a 1.3 MP camera (also video recorder), calendar, and all the normal features you'd find on any other phone. The Samsung e730 comes with 96mb internal memory, but one draw back is that it only stores this amount. There is no external memory. I'd say this is around 20 songs on the phone, but really, who needs anymore? The drawbacks of this phone model are the lack or battery life, and the easy stratching housing. The short battery life is commonly found in newer Samsung phones. I would say I recharge the battery every two days of normal talking. It takes about 1.5 days before I notice the battery goes down to 2/3rd battery life. I've never had this with my Nokia, but then again i've never had an mp3 phone or stylish one either.Another draw back is the case stratches "easily". I have the glossy black version, and if you are getting the samsung e730, I suggest getting the black matted one. They really aren't that bad, and if I could take a picture of it for you I would. Shine it in light and you'll see a couple. That's it. I noticed it was a common complant among the e730 forums, but it really isn't all so bad. One could easily polish them out anyway.Overall, I love this phone. I'll probably use it for 2-3 more years before replacing it. If you're looking for an mp3 phone, and don't need so many songs, this is your phone. 20 is enough. It's like a CD. Trust me mp3 lovers, you'll love this phone.
