Forever Sony

The good: Built in antenna so not parts sticking out. Nice GUI. Charges pretty fast. The bad: Poor picture and sound quality. A little bulky.Summary: The Sony z500a is pretty nice for an old model phone. It's flip phone so that's always good but the voice and picture quality is horrible. It's keypads and ease-of-use if pretty convient and user friendly. Over all, I don't care much for the picture and sound but the thing works really well. Never had any problem with it, no acting up. As for durability: its been soaked in a puddle of water, tossed 15 feet, sat on, stepped on, etc. and barely few scratches can be seen.

A so so phone

Posted on: August 23rd, 2006 by Brian Kirn

The good: Easy to use and navigateCaller IDGreat display screenEasy to programInternet capableCamera phone and videoLong battery life on standbyThe bad: camera resolution poorlimited ring toneswhere you plug your charger in gets worn out, I have to fiddle around with it for like 5 minutes before I can get it to start charging. Then you better make sure you don't bump it or it will disconnect.Summary: Overall this phone is pretty good for someone who uses their phone every once in a while. This phone has a nice caller ID function on the front of the flip phone. The one thing I wish is you could make it to where you could flip the phone open without answering the call. This cannot be done as per customer service. The number of ring tones on this phone is very limited out of the box. Also, after connecting and disconnecting the charger for the phone for about a year, the connection on the phone started to wear out. Very sensitive and does not always keep a connection to charge.

Sony Ericcson Z500A ~ More Trouble Than It's Worth

Posted on: August 22nd, 2006 by Scott Hudson

The good: The compact design is nice. The phone is just the right size. Many good features that make this phone appealing. Games on this phone are better than other phones. The bad: This phone kills the battery. Also, once you have had the phone for awhile it is hard to charge. I have been through 3 batteries and have only had this phone a little over a year and a half. The phone itself also had to be replaced because it just stopped working. Too many problems to be a reliable phone.Summary: The Sony Ericcson Z500A seemed like a good choice when I was in Cingular. Even the salesman praised this phone. It was ok for the first 6 months and it has been downhill ever since. The phone eats the battery, and will die when the battery charge is half gone. This model is more trouble than it's worth. I can't wait to get a new phone.
