Verizon Ellipsis 7 Android tablet official

Remember that mysterious Verizon Ellipsis 7-inch Android tablet that leaked out last month? It's not so mysterious anymore, because Verizon officially took the wraps off of the device this morning. The Verizon Ellipsis 7 is a new tablet from the big red carrier that, as its name implies, features a 7-inch display with a resolution that Verizon says is "HD." The Ellipsis 7 also sports a front-facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity and an unspecified version of Android.

Verizon's Ellipsis 7 is slated to hit store shelves on Nov. 7 for $249.99. However, customers that opt to buy the Ellipsis 7 or any other Verizon tablet on a two-year contract will receive a $100 discount off of their new toy's price.

There's no shortage of smaller tablets available on Verizon's network, with the carrier's online store currently selling the 7.9-inch iPad mini, 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and even the original Galaxy Tab. Still, the Ellipsis 7 is worth taking note of because it's coming from Verizon itself. The device is the first member of an entire family of Ellipsis products from Verizon, but there's no word yet on what the other products in the line might be. Considering that the Ellipsis is Verizon's own-brand hardware, though, it'll definitely be interesting to see what else the carrier's cooking up.
