Mark your calendars, Sprint users. Today Sprint CEO Dan Hesse announced that his carrier's LTE network will be going live in five cities on July 15. The first five markets that'll see Sprint LTE coverage are Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City and San Antonio. Sprint has previously said that Baltimore would also receive LTE service by mid-2012, but the city isn't mentioned in today's announcement. What Sprint did say today is that more 2012 LTE market launches will be revealed later this year, and that the carrier expects to have "largely completed" the rollout of its LTE network (covering 250 million people) by the end of 2013.

Sprint first announced that it would be rolling out an LTE network waaay back in October of last year, so it's exciting to hear that the actual launch of Sprint LTE is finally near. Sprint already offers several LTE-capable products that'll be able to access the LTE network once its live. It was also noted that Sprint's 3G network will be service will offer better signal strength, faster data speeds and expanded coverage as Sprint rolls out its Network Vision improvements across the country. So, how many of you are located in one of the five markets that'll be gaining Sprint LTE coverage next month?
