Helped more than I expected!

Posted on: September 25th, 2014 by Judy Pirnia

I recently set up Tracfones for my mom and dad. They live halfway to nowhere where even the big carriers have spotty service. They didn't want to pay an expensive contract when service is always spotty, so we went with Tracfone. My parents wanted to keep their old mobile phone numbers. My brother is the owner of their family plan, but was out of town, so I needed to do the switch without him. I had the wrong password for the old account, but Tracfone worked with me, and even called the old number back a few times until we got the access to the old plan figured out. They really helped me complete that process. After sleeping through the night, the minutes were still not appearing on my mom's phone, so I called customer service again from a different phone. There was no record of the minutes for the new phone (which makes no sense because you need minutes registered to activate the phone). The representative worked with me to recover the minutes, and compensated me a day of service time because of the delay. My dad?s phone was working, complete with his old phone number, in about 30 minutes. Much easier and less eventful. He swears he gets better service with his new phone, but it may just be his excitement. I left my parents? to travel back home, leaving both parents happy with their new phones. It was a trying process, but I am very happy with Tracfone?s response to my problems. I would recommend Tracfone to any of my friends or family.

Poor service

Posted on: September 9th, 2014 by A.j. Bourque

Tracfone has a great phone service until you have to deal with customer service. I once tried to buy a year worth of minutes I got 60 days no refund. Drop my phone in the water tried to keep the same number poor service , tried to add minutes to the new phone the put the minutes on the dead phone again no help from customer service. Now I have to get a new sims card, guees what they sent the wrong sims card now we will try again to see if they can get it right I hope I get the right sims card this time. Good luck

Bad advice from sales person

Posted on: September 1st, 2014 by Bobby Highland

Oct., 2013 I purchased ZTE valet. Advised sales person service in this area was not good but he insisted this phone would be perfect and service the best I could get. It took over an hour for him to get it programed. I had to return to the store 3 times to get it activated. A month later it was inactivated again even tho I had a 1 year card in it. I have to go 25 miles from my home to get service while all my neighbors have service right in their homes. Going to find something else when card expires although I still have over 2300 minutes left. Money wasted!

Samsung S425 Tracphone Service is Mediocre at Best

Posted on: August 16th, 2014 by Everett Solomons

I have owned the Samsung S425 Tracphone now for about six months. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5 because like others the service is lacking. I can add minutes but online is cumbersome to impossible and can barely get it done on the phone. The requirements of mile long serial numbers and passwords etc wastes my phone time. Also have been plagued by numerous (3-5 times a day) text messages with no sender id, message and no subject. Uses up my personal time and phone time! What to do? Call Tracphone - hardly. Worst service and tec support ever!!!

Posted on: August 12th, 2014 by Jim Kleinschmit

They are the worst lying and incompetent people I have ever had the mis-fortune of having to deal with, and that is saying a lot as I am 71-years of age. Many, many wasted hours trying to get simple things handled that never were handled. After my latest attempt to solve a simple problem, with a new Tracfone, I finally gave up and smashed the new phone with a Hammer and now I feel a little better. I am totally amazed that they can stay in business!!!

Works until you need help then expect no help

Posted on: July 31st, 2014 by Carol Doolittle

I use a cell phone mainly for travel or if I need assistance so if would be foolish to buy an iPhone-type monthly plan. I've been a TracFone customer since 2005. When Tracfone works it does the job. But when you need customer service watch out! In the last 7-days I have wasted more than 8 hours on the phone and e-mails with TracFone reps trying to get a defective ZTE Valet replaced. One representative, Raymond, threatened (hope that call was recorded for quality assurance!) that ?if I didn?t contact FedEx to find out the problem and give him an alternate address I wouldn?t receive a replacement phone.? Fed Ex told TracFone that they couldn't deliver the TracFone box for me to return my defective 4-month-old phone to them. When I realized that TracFone wasn't going to troubleshoot, (wouldn't that be ?customer service??) I called FedEx and was told the shipper gave them an address with only numbers, no street - the shipper was wrong. So I again called TracFone but still no resolution. I have a useless phone and TracFone is not providing customer service. The reps apologize a lot for 'my inconvenience' but do nothing to efficiently replace their defective phone.

Works well. NO contract NO BIG BILL and value priced!

Posted on: July 26th, 2014 by Jeff Coggins

If I'd wanted the Apple iphone...I could have gotten one. Trac Phone has NO contract- Value priced and is what it is. A phone with data and text...I've had ZERO problems. If it stopped today...I cannot complain!
