Kyocera Event hits Virgin Mobile, price of entry set at $79.99
@PhoneDog_Alex

Kyocera's bringing an Event to Virgin Mobile, and everyone's invited! *ba-dum-psh* Now that that's out of the way, I can tell you that Virgin Mobile today announced the Kyocera Event, an Android 4.0-powered smartphone that's available for purchase today from the Virgin Mobile website for $79.99. The Event will also be offered with a red paint job that'll be sold exclusively at RadioShack stores starting on March 3. As far as specs go, here's what $79.99 will get buyers:
- 3.5-inch 480x320 display
- 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon processor
- 3.2-megapixel rear camera
- 4GB built-in storage, microSD slot that supports cards up to 32GB in size
- 512MB RAM
- 1,500mAh battery
- Eco Mode software to conserve battery power
- MagniFont, which is an "extra-extra-large font size" to help users to better see what they're doing
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
The Kyocera Event's $79.99 price tag puts it on the lower-end of Virgin Mobile's lineup when it comes to device cost, so the Event could be a good way for Virgin Mobile customers to get a new Android handset on the cheap. Virgin Mobile's full announcement of the Event can be found below, along with a link to the Event's product page with that all-important "Add to Cart" button.
