Grrrr!

Posted on: October 5th, 2006 by Elizabeth LeTourneau

The good: I'm not sure there are any, outside of convienience. The bad: Lack of signal in MOST of the town we live in, poor customer service, expensiveSummary: We bought this for my son to be able to keep in touch while he was out & about, and are sorely disappointed! There are only 2 places in town he can get a decent signal, and they bombard us with spam and calls to my landline with offers we can't use. For Verizon-served areas, you're better off getting long-range walkie-talkies!

The good: excellent signalThe bad: cheap phones which break easily. need to refill every 30 days or per year even if you don't use minutes as they expire. Summary: cheap phones which break easily. need to refill every 30 days or per year even if you don't use minutes as they expire. Purchased year long cards but minutes seem to dissapear. This is expensive but still good if you don't use alot of minutes

Good Service

Posted on: September 20th, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: If you lose this prepaid phone your loss ends there. Reception good in areas Sprint and Verizon are poor. The bad: Primitive phone modelsSummary: I tried and gave up on Verizon and Sprint due to inability to use them at home...no signal. Got a Tracfone for a trip and it was just fine everywhere I tried it out. I buy a one year card and use if for exceptional needs relying on my land line for most needs and couldn't be happier at the sound or the annual cost.

Tracfone V170

Posted on: September 6th, 2006 by alicia marshall

The good: small fold-up, clear buttonsThe bad: back light does not stay on long, menu not easily navigated, ring tones pitiful, very small hearing hole - have to be right on it to hearSummary: The V170 is not as nice as the V60i - and the hearing quality is not as good. Should have stayed with the V60i.

tracfone: not worth the hassle

Posted on: September 2nd, 2006 by Brendan Kelly

The good: provided youre internet savvy, It's possible to obtain promotional codes adding additional minutes to phone cards.I generally get a good signal. The bad: Requires constant adding of minutes. Depending on the amount of time you spent on the phone it may be benefitial. Terrible customer service.Summary: I've had this phone for 3 months, originally purchased as an economical alternitave to my previous phone plan. Unless you speak on the phone for 90 minutes or less / month it is not worth it. phone cards are sold at 60min for $20, you can find 30 minute promotional codes online for a total of 90mins. If you think about it, the cheapest cingular individual plan is $39.95 for 450 mins which is = the price of two tracfone phone cards.

Tracfone is the Best

Posted on: September 1st, 2006 by Liss Burnell

The good: Very Rural Area in North Central Wiscosin, this is the only phone that has reliable service. The bad: ~Occasionally drops calls from Singular CustomersSummary: We've had phones through Verizon, AT&T, Cingular and tracfone is the ONLY Company that provides decent service in this very rural area. We are able to use our phones without roaming charges and without dropped calls. This morning I had to contact Tracfone because of damage to the phone and they are sending out a replacement phone at no charge and transferring the minutes I had left. In addition, we will not be losing any incoming messages, the callers will be sent to voicemail and we are able to retrieve the messages from our home phone. The company has provided excellent customer service and were very polite.
